Thanks, Mark. This is one of Nelson's better interviews, he asks Brenda a lot of great and on point questions, some of which I've never heard her talk about before (like her thoughts on Kay/Jill when they were mother and daughter).

These are my favorite parts:

Such fun ridiculousness!

The show went to number one because of her and dropped because she left? She's such a gifted actress? God, she's fun(ny)!

At least she disagreed with the Katherine/Jill mother/daughter thing.

That I have to agree with! But, the woman's a mess... she didn't see the email for a year?

Still, I wonder if there's still chance for her to come to Wisteria Lane as Edie's sister, perhaps as part of the next mystery. She can have Edie's house and all

She's delusional. A gifted actress? lol

And she is also incorrect. If she returned to the show from 83- 87 - how does she explain that Y&R hit No 1 in 1988 and has been there ever since? lol. It went to number 1 AFTER she left.

Between Rowell and Dickson, Y&R sure has many #1-making ladies!

Dickson brought it to #1 in 1983, when she returned, but it crashed to #6 in 1987, but in 1990, it went back to #1 again when Rowell arrived!

So Marc Cherry emails her, she doesn't see the email and he just gives up that easily and forgets that he emailed her and forgets about the role? Mr. Cherry must have wanted her so bad that he didn't even follow up with her when he never got a response to her email. lol. She's nuts!

I know you know this. I also know my "pie charts" inspire  in some, but that's what I do. I just need to demystify this false #1 crap.

As you can clearly see below, at least in HH ratings, Y&R was never #1 before 1989 or so (these are averages for the whole season), and it has never been anything but #1 since. There is no association with the arrival/departure of Dickson nor Rowell. I know you know this. But I'm wondering where these fantasies are coming from??? Are they talking about the demographic 18-49? Because that's not true. Are they talking about with African American fans? Because I don't know if that is true.

ETA: FYI, these ratings are through the current season (which is shown as 2008, short for 2008-2009). The X-axis won't show 2009 until NEXT season (2009-2010 season).

    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
