Yes, that's the one. Thanks for posting that MTS. I didn't see the whole thing. So I guess its next week, but if that doesn't happen until next week, I don't get why CBS would show Nina saying that.

I can't believe it but I'm in love with two women now - EH and SH! I should call my mamma and give her the good news!

EH has always been great but the character had me waiting for a house to fall on her, but from her performances last week and now today she's one of my favs. When she told Billy it was over, "believe me" and threw the ring I clapped! This has been a long time coming and I hope the reason Phyllis didn't elect to have a nasty divorce is because the writers planned one for Chloe! Think when Jill took John's money, nasty divorce.

....

I really like how they contrast the Patty/Jack story with the Chloe/Billy story - showing that a woman in the same position can be driven crazy by a man but make totally different choices. Love the writing - it's almost poetic how they cross storylines.

MJ is SO my girl, though! What was she going to do to Summer!?? How apropos was Nelson's rave about SH on today? Victor didn't mention what JT said about getting caught snooping on the ranch so he's definitely playing her and has a maneuver up his sleeve.

So glad they addressed Jack's scars and Phyllis not knowing why they're there. So interesting to see former psycho Phyllis get played by current psycho MJ.

i'm very much on the fence about Clem's Mac. One moment I like her the next i'm like how did you get this part?

Nina: The Cane Slayer!!! She's gonna rat him out big time, and as much as I don't hate Cane like everyone else i love seeing Nina avenge Phillip - even if Phillip is the one who created him in the first place.

The Jack scars surprised me...mostly because I can't believe I never thought about them. OF COURSE they'd be there, and of course Phyllis would have seen them.

I like CF's Mac. She's different from anyone else on the canvas. For that, alone, I like the different flavor she brings.

"almost poetic"? Cashton, Cashton, Cashton! I totally agree. (I also think there are nice parallels between Chloe-Billy-Mac and Phyllis-Nick-Sharon...so it is interesting to see how these different triads make different choices...). But you'll get slain/flamed for referencing any kind of art in relationship to this show :).

Haiduk is remarkable. I totally feel for her. And I shouldn't. "I don't want to be your enemy," she quietly wishes.

    • @DeeVee Claire is a perfect example. So many women came to Springfield as competent, smart, and talented professionals. Then they’d attract a so-called “good guy,” get dumped, and spiral into complete chaos. What always strikes me is how clearly it plays like a male fantasy—yet it was written and sold to a female audience.
    • I just watched some parts of an episode of GL where Roger has just been shot by Holly. Rita then admits to Hillary that Roger raped her. Kasdorf is such a fantastic actress. I wish there were more of her work available.
    • -- Alex Alegria has almost a full sleeve tattoo on one arm and a large tatt on one pec. I see no indication that the show is covering up his ink,
    • Didn't Carrie2 even seduce a minor? Ick. Oh, yeah, and she even tried to seduce Alan, but this was his post-prison era when he was trying to prove to everyone he had changed. It's funny that of all people he didn't go for it. Wait. Josh had an affair with Vanessa? Or she just thought he did? I know people always say "it's just a soap" but the way mental illness is portrayed on soaps (and that goes for pretty much all of them) has always been not great, especially PPD. They practically turned Claire into The Joker. She also was trying to seduce men. (I notice that now Mary Ryan Munisteri is listed as co HW with Ryder in the 1986 episodes, Claire has calmed down a lot. Never thought her GL career was very good but seems like she tried to course correct that a bit).
    • sss Ms. Tunie is a goddess. I feel all the anger, pride, sadness, arrogance, dignity, fear, love, and other emotions in everything she does as Anita.
    • You're right. People like me who stuck with her, did so because of her history. The show just skated her along with no story,  no goal, no aim. Right again! This is who I forgot before. When you describe her, it makes me appreciate her more. Thinking back I loved Mandy.
    • Maybe Guza is becoming Y&R Head writer and Jilly will be named EP! Remember CBS installed Latham as consultant and later Mal Young, both of whom took over the show. Of course, they each got credit during the consulting days.
    • Don't forget Carrie, who as Carrie2 was screwing everything in pants, and PPD Reva, who to either get back at Josh for his supposed affair with Vanessa (or just to prove she's more desirable than Van) tries to screw half the male population.
    • Post-production isn't exactly akin to sweeping the floors, but it makes more sense given her CV.  And, it would invalidate any concerns that she has an undo influence on the creative process, as opposed to visual and sound design of the show.  In fact, given her interests, it makes sense that she would want to consult and see the impact of newer technology in a post-production facility.  I could only imagine how much has changed in sound technology since she worked on SB, and that might be intriguing to utilize. As well as their impending move (not as soon as B&B, but we all know it will happen) and helping set up post-production at the new facility.
    • The last five or so episodes of season 8 after the Jean Hackney story ended were pretty strong with the Laura/Val friendship breakdown, Ben's PTSD with Val trying to help him, and the start of Jill realizing that Val was as much of a threat to her happiness with Gary as Abby was. I always thought that the Jean Hackney story should have ended at mid season at the latest... and then deal with the fall-out because seeing Ben/Val switch roles with Ben in mental decline instead of Val would have been interesting to explore.  And seeing Val and Laura's friendship suffer also was interesting and should have been explored especially with Karen caught in the middle and Abby both intrigued and amused at the conflict that she didn't cause. However, season 8 was the only Latham run season where Val was well written.
