Barren, arid

the desert of our melding

scorching permanence

into my soul

Oasis of escape

far off into the distance

your smothering sun

consumes my being

Parched heart

digging hand over fist

through the grains of

desperation

your intentions pure

your methods deadly

your utter adoration

suffocates my mortal existence
