Years ago when I went to look at that movie because of that famous slap I was horrified at what awful people they are!!! LOL

About Ada, about Connie, lots to say & I will try to gather thoughts & links, etc. later tonight! A great idea for a sub-thread! Good on ya, mate.

I always loved the arguments between Ada and Rachel way back when Rachel was still bad.  Ada would really let Rachel have it, but Rachel never seemed to listen.  Then a week or so later, they'd both be back in Ada's kitchen or living-room, and start the argument all over again.  LOL.  The viewers could hear the exasperation in Ada's voice and see it in her eyes.  This went on for years -- while Agnes Nixon, Robert Cenadella, and Harding Lemay were head-writers.

And then of course, there's that wonderful scene between Connie Ford and Jacquie Courtney around 1973-ish.  Ada show's up at the Matthews house hoping to visit her best-friend Mary.  But Alice opens the door nearly in tears.  This is during some of the worst turmoil between Alice/Steve/Rachel.  Ada tries to comfort Alice, but Ada feels guilty for what her own daughter had brought upon Alice.   Both Ford and Courtney play that scene perfectly.  The kindness versus the awkwardness between the two characters is amazingly played.

Ada has an experience at the hospital that unnerves her. Back home Rachel wants to know what's wrong but Ada really doesn't want to talk about it. She's having a hard time thinking about growing older.

In April 1992, the AW Fan Luncheon, called "Baby Follies" & Connie sings which the fans loved!

Connie Ford in ROME ADVENTURE. One scene cracks me up.

Ada argues with her #2 daughter, Nancy. It's over drinking & misusing a credit card. Nancy thinks she's a grown-ass woman but Ada says she's both still a minor & acting like a child.

As she did all of Rachel's life, Ada is giving her advice, mostly about Mac but some about Amanda or Janice Frame.

One thing that fans have asked me over & over is if I have a picture of Felicia with longer hair. They are referring, of course, to the time she had extensions. They were first seen for her birthday bash. Also at that time, which went on for a whole week, I think, Anna Stuart was just back FINALLY as Donna Love & Jason Frame got himself shot & dead in the Room of Mirrors. So, I looked & looked & did research & even tried to get some from Linda Dano but there were just none to be found. So, persevering I made some using screen capture & a little photo editing. Hope you enjoy these.

I read several years ago (in more than one place -- either online or in the soap press), that the set used for the Matthews house on Another World had earlier been used on another soap opera as that show's core family's house.  And that after that show was cancelled, the set was disassembled and moved to the Brooklyn studio for use on AW.  Has anyone else ever heard about this?  What was the title of the earlier soap? And is the story even true?  It always seemed strange to me that I've not seen any photos from the earlier show featuring the set, since that soap had recently been cancelled with AW premiered.

This is a set from Our Five Daughters, a short lived soap opera airing on NBC and cancelled in 1962.  The photo seems to be flipped (reversed), but the set looks vaguely similar to the Matthews house on AW.  Especially the stairs and the knee wall near the stairs. Does anyone know how to flip a photo?  It might be easier to imagine it being the set in question if we could see the correct orientation.  And of course it is possible (or even likely) this is not the same set.

    • Agree.  But I would describe him as being disappointed not bitter.
    • >>><<< Great minds!  Kat certainly does prove that point. She's been given a lot to work with, so we shouldn't be bored of her anytime soon. I am interested in all her storylines at the moment, and curious how the show will use the affair to impact her romances and business stories. Well, what movie was it? Cause… I noticed it too. The first couple of seconds of the song were slightly different. OMG! Great call, precisely the same situation.
    • I think Kin was dissatisfied at GH in as much as Scotty had been pushed aside for Luke/Laura and the writing was doing him no favors as Scotty was now seen as an obstacle to their romance. So with his contract up he was offered big $$$ to move to Texas, which you can't blame him for. In addition to the money, I recall he was promised that Jeb would be a more dynamic character than Scotty. The money came through but not the story, so  don't blame him for being  slightly bitter.

    • A random thought - June is related to Hayley AND Tyrell and Samantha. Hayley and June are sisters separated when young. Years later June's children Ty and Sam end up being adopted into the Dupree family, coincidentally giving Hayley a further link to that family.
    • He spoke highly of the cast but was disappointed in his lack of story.  He was not disrespectful and he has the right to express his feelings.
    • I like Nicole the most, because she's the only normal person, even if she slides into psych-analyzing speak. I like Anita--but I suspect that's more about my attachment to Tamara Tunie. I'm on the fence about Dani--but I don't see her as the underdog vs. Nicole. Dani had her a fabulous life. Nicole might not have lived in her sister's shadow, but it seems like Dani gets the attention in the family.
    • I definitely wouldn't mind seeing him again. I understand.  BUT...a start.

I thought this was Debbi Morgan and squeeled!
    • Cody could have been Derek. He shows a lot more emotion in the scenes he gets than Gavin ever has.
