Jess Walton is the QUEEN of Y&R on Tomorrow's show. As much as MAB's regime has faults, I will not fault them for bringing Jill off the back burner and back to the front where she belongs. Kudos!!!

As for Adam, that scene is dumb, he should at least pull out a mirror before doing random eye injections on himself. Now I think his comeuppance would be going blind through poking his eye nerves.

Now that we have, can we go back to normal? I miss the thread without all the weeding.

Random thoughts as I watch today's US episode. I like seeing Heather, though once we're done with round whatever of Adam being a jerk, I SO want her to be done with him and kick his butt.

I really don't want Billy to be the father of Sharon's kid. Actually, if Jack was it would fulfill my dream of those characters back together again--yea, I'm the only one with that dream and I'm ok with that.

I myself do not have a love it or leave it attitude, but when someone hates a show and everything about it i do wonder why they watch. (And im not saying that about you, you have posted what you liked you just also point out what you and dont and your desire for changes to be made).

I just find it ridiculous that certain people come in who obviously dont even watch the show much, if at all, just to bitch. Esp when the soap i know they do watch is so awful they should be able to get their bitching done in that shows thread.

Why its gotta be DAYS? LOL! They dont have many fans at this board at all.

Perhaps, In your face GH and OLTL works better? lol.

Habit?

:D

Believe it or not, there are a few things that I enjoy and appreciate about Y&R right now. For instance, the Murphy/Katherine relationship. It truly is refreshing to see an "older" couple falling in love after dealing with life's ups and downs; it just might give some hope to those who might be as old as they are, yet feel that time and love have passed by.

Also, even though I'm not the world's biggest Adam fan, I am intrigued by his continued attempts to re-ingratiate himself into Victor's life, including his feigned blindness, and his possible connection to Ashley's gaslighting. (I still suspect he might be behind the whole thing.) As I said upthread, Adam's about the only person on the canvas these days who is proving himself to be a formidable nemesis for TGVN. More so than Nick, who always comes across as some petulant child, threatening to hold his breath until "Daddy" caves in.

Having said that, though, there's still much about the show that I don't like or care for. I still think the Billy/Chloe relationship is contrived, old-fashioned and outdated. I still think the Patty Jane saga is predictable. And I still think that the Winterses are boring; that the Nick/Sharon/Phyllis triangle is "unrootable", regardless of whichever side you fall upon; that characters like Cane, Lily, Colleen, Amber, and Daniel are sucking up valuable airtime that should go toward characters who've earned it; and that the Fisher-Baldwins are cancerous and need to be excised A-SAP.

In the end, I think it's fantastic to have as many views as possible about, well, any subject, and not just Y&R. My only wish is that all views and arguments receive equal consideration (something even I will cop to struggling with from time to time), and not to have one post-er's opinion(s) shot down just because the majority happens to think differently, or the post-er-in-question has a reputation on the threads which is less than sterling. We don't have to agree, obviously, and none of us should make swaying the "other side" to ours the only goal; but most of us (again, myself included) need to exercise a little more patience, tolerance and respect toward others. (And if that fails, then just add 'em to your "Ignore User(s)" List and move on.)

That's all I have to say about that subject, really.

Ok, folks, here's my drunk opus about Mary Jane.

So many think she's going to be a villain-of-the-month and a small blip on the radar. I think she'll be one of Y&R's most infamous villainesses ever. Why? Cause of Stacy Haiduk. Today's episode showed me that. With her scenes with Phyllis, she was supposed to brainstorm new ideas for Jabot and RS. She gave up and went immediately to Jack. Her almost child-like innocence was brilliant. She's still the geek wanting to get her Prince - Jack. The vulnerability SH gives is off-the-charts. When she first appeared with Victor, telling him all about how she liked Jack eating-out-of-her-hand, the thrill of it, i could tell she was not your ordinary soap villainess. She has a heart and her jealousy and resentment is her weakness.

Please keep in mind, we don't know what's happened to her in these 25+ years she's been away. She's going to be very sympathetic when we learn everything. And when she falls in love with someone other than Jack - when "that guy" (who I have no clue will be ) finds something remarkable in her and falls truly in love with her, we'll get a well-rounded woman who won't end up in some sweeps event thought dead - we'll get a woman who is very much like all the soap heroines, just mad about love and who wants to be loved.

With SH in the role, I think she can become as popular as Phyllis, who was once evil and manipulative (and who now is the most popular character according to SOD polls). Paul is important - her brother is the moral center of the show. I can see a friendship with Nikki blooming. Bottom line - she's got issues and she's going to do terible things, but I see her as being an integral character for Y&R in the future. Only time will tell , but I'm loving her performance and the writing thus far for her.

If that's you when you're drunk, Cashton, then you need to go to your local liquor store and stock up immediately.

    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!
