I'm going to attempt to be as optimistic as brimike and expect TPTB to insert a few Mac monologues over the next few weeks or something to flesh her out because I really don't want someone else to have joined the cast yet again and become a complete waste of space/acid on my eyeballs. I really hope they don't fail with her as they did with Eva/Tammin.

Hell, if she has more chemistry with Cane and creates a compelling triangle with Lane, I'll take it. Anything that works over something forced that doesn't.

Not that I think so LOL, but I thought we've been fed to believe that Lily was the moral barometer that her peers can't be LMAO.

I don't see the point of creating a barometer on this show, though. Is it to re-register all that's been done over the past few years is a lot worse than what we've witnessed? If so, then that's lame. Everything is bland. Inserting a barometer to remind me how bad all these characters really are won't change my mind of how they really aren't that crazy.

On the subject of Mac, I don't think we'll ever do any better than Rachel Kimsey in terms of acting ability and range. But AshBash's Mac was the one who consistently stayed in character and played Mac the way she was always intended to be - icy and unpleasant. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about Clementine at this point, but she's lightyears ahead of Kelly Kruger.

Colleen is a great character, but I have never viewed her as a moral barometer, regardless of the actress.

Fonseca's version smoked pot.

Leon's version schemed to get JT away from Mac and then slept with her teacher.

Sursok's version threw herself at Daniel to spite Amber.

Colleen is no Mac where morality is concerned, although she isn't completely devoid of morals like Amber or Chloe.

I think Clem is doing good as mac. Not great not fantastic.. but not bad or awful. Juts good, and thats OK. Because really, mac has always been an awful character IMHO. I dont htae her her so far this run, and i think thats all due to Clem but because it sure isnt the writing. The sudden "im gonna stay here for no reason" to the insta longing for Billy? WTF.

I love the ons creen relationship between mac & kay, and i think Clem & Cooper have great chem. I also really like Clem's chem with Billy Miller and with The Beastmaster. But id like to see her out and about more.

SOmething is missing for me with Mac tho, and its not the acting. Its in the writing.

    • There probably would have been a good chance they knew of him, especially with his ties to Spaulding and his being involved in so much scandal (meaning there would be plenty of photos and articles around they both would have seen), but I agree the mask was silly, clearly just a TV moment.

    • I think all the suits are fit too tight, except for Jon Lindstrom's. DC lawyers/doctors are not all LA fashion elites. Yes, maybe Tomas would have a more modern cut to his suit, but an established guy like Bill wouldn't go around looking like that lonely button on his jacket was ready to explode constantly.
    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
