“There’s been a lot of discussion about how to bring Dixie back…I’ve had a lot of conversations with a lot of people, because why wouldn’t she come back before now?” (McClain) “This will be explained,” promises Carruthers (EP), “She’s in a beautiful European chalet. It’s the [Friday] tag of the week. Di says, ‘Merry Christmas, Dixie,’ and you will see Cady. The following Monday, there are conversation throughout the episode between Di and Dixie. Di asks the questions the audience wants to know.” (JHC) But don’t expect answers right away. “It’s going to be very poignant and very beautiful…The fans are not going to be let down, because I know when people invest in a show and that happens, it really sucks.” (McClain) Dixie’s return is still being written at press-time, so much so that they had initially put an actress to play the back of Dixie’s head, they then taped Cady (when she finally sealed the deal) and will plug it into the episodes. “Obviously, she didn’t die. There were a lot of consequences to that event. All I can say is that I think it’s a very well-planned story. It deals with the character’s history in a responsible and exciting way, in terms of her moving forward because of what she experienced. It’s an interesting evolution.” (McClain)

WHEN KELLI MET CADY: She was taping hospital-sick-Di scenes and looked awful, Kelli that is. So she was asking Michael about Cady, and then Cady emerged to on the taping floor with the producers and Kelli was like, “Oh, my God…first time I’ve ever met her…” Kelli tells her she was fake-Dixie, looking all awful and stuff, and Cady comments, “Oh, wow,” Ha, Kelli says it was awful, lol. “I’m so excited…I know the fans are going to be so excited about it because they love her so much, too.”

Well Kanewomen2005 you can have your own opinion but you don't know for certain all of these things you are saying do you? It's all speculation from both ends.....

I can tell you right now she isn't right about Erica and Jack. AMC has given every indication that they are going to be a longterm core couple and family on this show and that's the way the majority of fans want it. As for David, he is getting a NEW LOVE INTEREST for 2006 as per MMT in print. There hasn't been any talk of reuniting D/E AT ALL since they broke up years ago.

As for Dixie, she will always end up with Tad IMO (They are soulmates as J/E are) but I (and I think the majority of T/D fans) am fully prepared for David to be involved with her. There has been a reason that MMT has written Dixie as the Love of David's life, per his own admission and it wouldn't make sense if David wasn't somehow involved between Tad/Dixie and Di. I'm hoping his new love is Di but there has also been speculation and rumor that it also could be Julia. Either way he is going to have a new love interest and it won't be Erica who was only a brief interlude in her life many years ago.

Dixie and David were planned before he even got involved with Erica but storylines changed and it was delayed until later. Also, I would think Erica's happy marriage to the love of her life, Jackson, would be a much bigger barrier to the possibility of Erica and David reuniting than anything else.

You are right on target Darcy Erica IS married to the love of her life and that's the way it should stay for a very, very long time IMO

AN was the one who broke up D/E, because she wrote the Bianca coming out story (not JP), and she wanted her to be alone while dealing with it, thus enhancing SL's Emmy chances.

As a completely non-AMC viewers, reading that article from SOW even gets me excited, LOL. I love character returns especially when they are shrouded with mystery and suspense.

EMMY® AWARD-WINNER CADY MCCLAIN RETURNS TO "ALL MY CHILDREN," DECEMBER 23

Cady McClain makes a triumphant return to "All My Children" and the role she created, that of Dixie Martin, on December 23, it was announced today by Brian Frons, president, ABC Daytime.

For the first time Ms. McClain will treat her fans to a weekly blog posted exclusively on ABC.com, where she will document her return to the show, sharing her thoughts and interactions from the set. An online streaming video component is also being planned to enhance the fan experience.

"Dixie Martin is such a beloved character, with deep ties to our present storylines, and fans have long awaited her return to Pine Valley. I am delighted that Cady will be reprising the role she made famous, and we can look forward to the mysterious events surrounding Dixie's homecoming," said Mr. Frons in making the announcement. "Cady agreeing to document her behind-the-scenes experiences on the set via a weekly blog not only enhances the viewing experience for the audience but demonstrates her commitment to the fans and 'All My Children,'" he concluded.

"I am thrilled to be returning to a show where I have such a long and beautiful history. It is an especially excellent cast, and I am looking forward to working with some new and very talented actors, as well as revisiting with some dear old friends. I hope the audience will enjoy the incredibly thrilling storyline Megan McTavish has created as much as I am going to enjoy playing it. Brian Frons and Julie Hanan Carruthers have been exceptionally welcoming, and I am excited about the innovative technologies that are allowing for the audience to get more involved. Ms. McClain's initial tenure on the show was from 1988-1996, when she won her first Daytime Emmy Award. She later returned to the show in 1998-2002, and then joined the cast of "As the World Turns" as Rosanna Cabot, which garnered her a second Daytime Emmy. She also received Soap Opera Digest Awards in 1991 and 1999.

No stranger to television audiences, Ms. McClain's extensive credits include "Law & Order SVU," "A Father's Homecoming," "Home Fires," "Who Will Love My Children?," "St. Elsewhere," "Spencer: For Hire," "Cheers," "One Big Family" and "Lou Grant."

Her award-winning independent film credits include: "Alma Mater," which premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival in 2002 and was nominated for the Golden Starfish Award (the film also won the Audience Award for Best Film at the Austin Film Festival); "Retreat," which won the 2004 Wood's Hole Film Festival, as well as the Telluride Indiefest; and she recently completed shooting "Soldier's Heart." Additional film credits include "My Favorite Year," where she played Peter O'Toole's daughter, Tess, and "Pennies from Heaven."

On stage Ms. McClain has appeared in David Ives' "The Red Address" at the second stage, opposite Kevin Anderson, which garnered excellent reviews, including from The New York Times. Additional credits include "The Comedy of Errors," as Adriana, "Much Ado About Nothing," as Hero, at

Lincoln Center, "Barefoot in the Park," as Cory, and "Quiet on the Set," as Tamara/Bridget. She also wrote, produced and co-directed a surrealist one-woman piece, "Mona7," and performed in "Inventions of Farewell," another one-woman piece, compiled from Wallace Stevens' poetry.

"All My Children" celebrated its 35th Anniversary on January 5, 2005. The program has successfully maintained its popularity and continues to be one of daytime's most compelling dramas. I have never thought erica/david would be long-term.lol I would like to see adam with erica, I missed the first two times. An I know erica/david aren't happening any time soon, hopefully maybe down the long road.lol An it doesn't have to be david with erica, as long as there interesting for example adam.

Sorry, I need to be more clear. I mean david did kidnap miranda, so they definantly aren't gonna be together any time soon. An even so I definantly don't see erica/david married. An yes I do hate jack, anyone is better than him. I would rather chris be with erica, and I used to despise him more than jack, but at least he was interesting to a point/not boring.
