ATWT has been unwatchable for years for me. I would have rather seen that one go before GL. It's so obvious that CBS doesn't actually watch its shows, just the ratings.

This show is easily fixable, but no one even tries anymore.

Well, at least they have another year to think up a good send-off for the show, but with this regime, I'm sure it will be Paul and Meg's wedding episode.

That's the thing that makes it even worse for me. You really wouldn't have to do a complete overhaul of the cast so that you'd have all of the appropriate characters. The show can stand to lose a few Snyders, it can definitely take some younger Hugheses (why did they ruin Chris?), and they can slightly build on the Stewart family, and they'd have a nice little set-up. Three main families with others who interact with them.

After the news of GL's cancellation came, I watched ATWT this week out of curiosity. Jon Lindstrom is good as Craig. Julie Pinson's Janet has come into her own. The weaknesses remain Paul, Meg, Luke, Noah, and Alison. Whose bad idea was it to stick Casey with Alison? It has some good bones, but I don't see that there is anything that they can do storywise to drive up the demos in a year's time. I can't imagine B&B's audience sticking around in droves to watch ATWT.

CBS only has 3 soaps to promote now, I wonder if this mean better promotion for ATWT, and we know promotion can be key for viewership.

They'll go on a cross-country trip spreading charity and good will. After they give Stevie Wonder the ability to see again, but right before they find homes for all of the nation's orphans, they're going to stop in a backwoods Kentucky town where there is an annual gay-bashing festival. Luke will sleep with all of the town's men, Noah will sleep with half of the town's men and half of the town's women (BUT HE'S 100% COMPLETELY GAY, OKAY!?!??!), and suddenly the town will throw them a make-shift wedding. Loretta Lynn will make an appearance and sing her rendition of "Cowboys are Frequently Secretly Fond of Each Other."

And the final shot of the entire series shall be Helen Wagner looking directly into the camera and asking, "What. The. [!@#$%^&*]. Was that?!"

I know this sounds morbid, but I think they should should the final scene, starring Lisa and Kim and Bob and Nancy TOMORROW. While Helen is still with us.

They should NOT wait till Fall 2010. That is a scene they need to get in the can now, come hell or high water, IMO.

Seriously, Goutman needs to get his S H I T in order. Get rid of stories that are failing badly:

Meg/Paul

Henry/Vienna/Brad/Katie want a baby story

Nuke's gay infomercials and continued stupid storylines.

Liberty and Parker dull and hated romance

 We're such bitches!

Who is Lube?...LOL

I have NO FAITH in Goutman to turn this show around.

Lube is Luke and Brian. Mhm. You'll see them referred to as either Lube or Lion. ...Lube, though? Really? It's too easy.
