I love a good laugh this early in the morning!!

Liz Hendrickson continues to impress me. She has really stepped up as an actor on Y&R and it shows----the last couple of days are alot stronger than she ever use to be on AMC.

OK, I know you guys are probably already on Canada's five-years-ahead episodes or whatever the heck they are showing up there in the frozen north. :P But I am still LMAO over Monday's bungled geriatric escape. Seeing Kay, Esther and Annie hobble towards the exit with all the speed of a sleeping snail was a Soap Moment I haven't seen since B&B's Sally Spectra "jumped" in slo-mo to take a bullet for Macy.

Paul Rauch, you have won me over!

And, yes, Lame are epicly boring. But at least Y&R does love scenes like its 1988! GH has abandoned theirs (unless it involves a limo and Sonny's zipper).

And not to resurrect a dead argument re: The New Jill, aka Colleen, but it struck me on Tuesday that Jill seems to be on the road to mentoring Chloe.

No, it will be 9,100th episode.

While I am thrilled that Kate Linder is getting more airtime, every now and then it's visible that she hasn't done a lot of acting. Some of the sentences she has end up with the last word being said as if she's trying to remember what it was. She pauses for a second when she shouldn't and then says the remaining word. It's just a tiny nitpick.

I know most are loving this show, and don't mind Lauren and Michael as support but come on, Tracey Bregman and Christian Le Blanc are getting absolutely nothing to do on screen and it has been that way for awhile. Michael and Lauren are virtual non entity's at this point. They can't even get any good supporting scenes anymore.

Michael is supposedly Katherine's lawyer, but we haven't seen him in a scene with her story since they took a DNA sample and he was lucky to get 2 minutes of screentime in that story. His big scene was steaming her outfit in the background one day. We haven't heard any reaction from Michael about the test results or Marge's disapppearance.

Now he is Cane's lawyer and we saw Michael with Cane for one scene for three seconds when Cane said he was getting a divorce and wanted custody, but again no follow up. I am used to Michael's personal life with Lauren happening mostly off screen, but now Michael as a lawyer is off screen.

If they want Michael as a supporting character fine, but use the actor for God's sake. Christian Le Blanc and Tracey Bregman are being totally wasted on this show. They are off screen more than on and their "big" story is when they have scenes with Eden every few weeks.

Are Tracey and Christian being positioned to be the next vets to be written off the show? Nobody misses them, the writers could care less about them, and most of the time fans forget they are even on this show unless they pop up in an episode.

But why must CLB as Michael and TEB as Lauren always, always dance to the Fisher tune? Who are the long term vets? Not Kevin and Gloria. I think Judith Chapman and Greg Rikkhart are good actors, but I am sick of Michael and Lauren being used, for nearly five years, to clean up after them.

I am tired of Michael and Lauren being backburned unless Kevin and Gloria have a story. It is like wash, rinse and dry with Michael and Lauren. They can only have a romantic scene if Gloria is around to interrupt them. They only exist to sigh, get aggravated, and then fix the problems of their family and on occassion their friend Phyllis.

The writers put little effort into Michael and Lauren. Christian and Tracey can play what they are given in their sleep. They are given very little challenging acting to do and all the meaty material for that family, except for the occassional episode (i.e. Michael's "It's a Wonderful Life" episode and Lauren/Tracy Abbott scenes) are given to Judith and Greg.

It is great that all these other vets are getting story and we love how Maria Bell respects history, yet who cares about Lauren Fenmore and Michael Baldwin. What are they and their portrayers chopped liver? What did they do to get on the bad side of Maria Bell? I know they aren't a Newman, Chancellor or Abbott, but Bill Bell loved these actors and valued these characters and now they do nothing except sit home, lecture Eden, fold laundry and wait for a family member to screw up.

....that's the dilemma of being a happily married couple on a soap.

Not to mention, I never thought Michael and Lauren's relationship had much substance to start with. They could easily be broken up and moved to separate orbits on this show. I don't buy them as a real couple, but I can buy them as friends. I never thought their relationship was properly developed, and their initial courtship was used as a plot device to show how far Michael's come, it didn't benefit Lauren or added much to the overall relationship.

    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
