Members April
Without Thorsten there is no show.!!!!!! He is the star of AMC. Cameron gets a bad rap but the show would go on if he was not on it but he would be missed in my opinion.

Members Bright Eyes
You are 100% wrong. Thorsten Kaye is one of the biggest diseases that AMC has ever encountered in the show's history. Erasing him from Pine Valley will only bring good things. As for Ryan. He's a nuisance as well. But at least I can laugh at his bad acting. With Thorsten he's just completely dull. Members brimike
Uhhh... AMC existed for quite some time before Zach Slater/Alexander Cambias. And it survived just fine without him. Sure, he would be missed by his fanbase - but the show would most definitely go on, and be just fine.
Members CassieFan
AMC survived 34 years without Thorston, it can survive more if a character that's on the show for 5 years leaves.
Members SteveFrame
Fan Bases need to learn from the Deidre Hall/Drake Hogestyn thing. There was a time when the departure of a fan fave did affect things but there are more factors that are affecting soaps these days than departures and returns. Many of the big returns haven't amounted to anything and the departures aren't either. The Jarlena fans said Days would crash and burn as soon as they were gone. Days has not crashed and burned. In fact they have gone up some in the ratings or held their own since the departures of Hall and Hogestyn who I loved immensely. The threats from the fan bases will definitely be affected by the Drake/Deidre's firings unless in the coming months they do crash and burn. Then the threats might mean something again but if it doesn't the fan bases won't have any that power anymore.
Members rangethatrover
Yes, and David Fumero is the heart and soul of OLTL. And Adrienne Franz is the heart, soul, and squeaky voice of Y&R!!! This has me giggling like a schoolgirl!!!! LOLLLLLLLLLLLL
Members SteveFrame
If Zach Slater is the heart of AMC then they need to call the nearest cardiologist and do surgery. The man has no heart for anyone but himself. He claims to love Kendall but if that is love I don't want it. AMC has always been a show about love - young love, family love, love for it's fellow man in the way Nixon and others sought to educate the public through even minor stories like Ruth's pregnancy over the age of 40. If Zach Slater has become the heart of the show then AMC is in bigggggggg trouble.
Members DaytimeFan
AMC thrived before Thorsten Kaye and Cameron Mathison and I have NO DOUBT IN MY MIND that the show would improve without them!
Members CSF
He clearly isn't the heart and sole of anything. Has there been any other news on his contract negations? I was hoping to look at this thread and see an update saying he's walking and the role will not be recast.
Members All My Shadows
No. Zach is the most un-AMC character on AMC right now. Even Ryan makes more sense as an AMC character than Zach does.

Members April
I just saw your post and I wanted you to go back to the first page and look at all the posts and see the number of people who have read this post. The most of any of the others. The reason because Zach Slater is very very very popular and he is the HEART of the show any way you cut it. The facts are the facts. Members Rhiannon
I can bet you that people have probably read this post more because they are curious to see if Thorsten and his Sonny Corinthos themed character will finally be written off of AMC, and to see if any drama has broken out between regular AMC viewers and the Zendull fanbase. Members Jonathan
April, first of all welcome to the board. Now, let's get the real facts straight. The number of views of a thread are not by any means an accurate assessment of a character's popularity. One has nothing to do with the other. I won't argue that Thorsten has his fans. But I've been watching All My Children for over 25 years and the character of Zach Slater is far from the heart of this show. Just because he talks to Myrtle's picture once in a while and shows a sensitive side doesn't mean he's the heart of the show. I have to agree with other posters here and say that Zach Slater has been cancerous to All My Children.
