One of the (many) horrid things ....
The mayor of New York City Eric Adams was indicted several months ago on corruption charges. This was the right thing to do.
Eric Adams attended the Trump inauguration, which was suspicious.
It turns out that Trump's "department of justice" wants to dismiss all charges against Adams, in exchange for Adams harshly cracking down on immigrants in New York.
So many articles about this, I don't have time to post the links right now.
Justice department officials/judges/prosecutors have resigned in protest. Some of the resignation letters are quite eloquent and scathing.

We all know the nation and the world are in crisis these days, but nothing should stop us from honoring our loved ones on a day like Valentine's Day.  If anything, this is the PERFECT time to show our gratitude for each other and prove that "love wins."

I love NLG and think she deserves far more than what GH gives her.  But she's really gotta shut the f**k up.

Note the source "NYP" - they're citing the New York Post.

There are 2 or 3 special elections in the next six weeks.
(They are all currently Republican districts, but you never know).   
If all three special elections occur and go to the Democrats, it will flip the House.

Definite planned election: The 2025 Florida's 1st congressional district special election will be held on April 1, 2025 to fill a vacant seat in Florida's 1st Congressional District.
The seat was previously occupied by Matt Gaetz who resigned from the House Nov. 13, 2024, when nominated as US Attorney General (but Gaetz later withdrew himself for consideration as Atty Gen)

Definite planned election: The 2025 Florida's 6th congressional district special election scheduled to be held on April 1, 2025. The seat became vacant following the Jan. 20, 2025 resignation of Republican Michael Waltz, who was chosen by President Donald Trump to be his nominee for White House national security advisor.

Probable election: The 2025 New York's 21st congressional district special election.
The seat is expected to become vacant as Republican incumbent Elise Stefanik was chosen by president Donald Trump to be his nominee for U.S. ambassador to the United Nations (though as of February 13, 2025, she has not been confirmed by the Senate for the position).
