want to see some GOP donkey say that “diversity, equity, and inclusion” is bad for business.  Or, make the CEO of Target get on TV and say that “diversity, equity, and inclusion” is tearing the culture apart.  They would sound like fools.

But they actually believe that diversity destroys society.  They're not rational.

I mean obviously, diversity strengthens society, but they think the opposite.

I don't have time to post the link because I'm on my way to an appointment.

To sum it up:
Funding has been FROZEN for federal programs and grants.
A lot of these things affect CHILDREN.

As has been said:
They may be pro-birth, but they repeatedly demonstrate they are not pro-life.

I do not have a link either but I saw yesterday on the MSN tab on my browser that the people who performed at the Inauguration, ALL had their Spotify streaming counts go down, after. Carrie Underwood & 2 rappers

Is it wrong that it made me smile?

Just tired of all this nonsense. How about we worry about the prices of everything instead of DEI. This country is fucked if they think DEI is the main issue.

It's baffling, isn't it? But, and correct me if I'm wrong since the bible isn't exactly my area of expertise, isn't there something in there about it being an abomination to lay with a man the same way as you do with a woman? That's the only reason I can think of.

It doesn't really explain the almost pathological hatred for LGBTQ that these people exhibit though.

Chiming in on this in case it hasn't been mentioned... The funny thing, which those folks will never acknowledge, is that passage was translated incorrectly over the hundreds of years. The original language was that a man shall not lie with another boy; meaning he was speaking against pedophilia.

Somehow, those fine church folks never seemed to bother correcting the English translation.

On a different topic: Isn't over 50% of "DEI hires" white women?

As I was told several years ago by a Catholic priest, the Holy Bible is essentially a translation of a translation; and the translation that we commonly choose to follow (the King James Version) was put together by a group of men who deliberately left out many things that did not support their own beliefs.

I believe there is something in the Scriptures about neither adding to nor taking away from the word of God, but I'm no expert, so don't quote me on that, lol!

And if it's true that over 50% of DEI hires ARE white women, then they have screwed only themselves; and about that, I will Never. Stop. Laughing.

One link is what @Taoboi posted above about university loans frozen.

Here's another:
Medicaid portals nationwide are down
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jan/28/trump-federal-funding-freeze-medicaid

Also funding frozen for Headstart and community health programs!
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/medicaid-head-start-health-centers-trump-funding-freeze/

From the above CBS article, questions about whether or not there'd be funding for Meals-on-Wheels or school lunch programs.  (not known yet).

This MORNING (January 28)  Attorney General Letitia James said Head Start funding was frozen in Michigan, access to child development block grants was cut off in Maryland and at least 20 states have been unable to access Medicaid reimbursement systems, including New York.

EPA just confirmed to me that the agency "has paused all funding actions related to the Inflation Reduction Act and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act at this time."

UPDATE 4:00pm EST, January 28 from Headstart itself:
Its funds are NOT frozen:

Update again:  6:07pm  EST, January 28,
A federal judge, Loren L. AliKhan, has temporarily stayed the freeze (stopped the freezing?)

Senators’ phones have been ringing off the hook with nonstop calls from hospitals, police departments, volunteer firefighters, food pantries, drug treatment centers, on and on and on.

— Chuck Schumer (@schumer.senate.gov) January 28, 2025 at 11:28 AM

Republicans are quite literally defunding the police and raising taxes thanks to Donald Trump’s cruel order.

— Chuck Schumer (@schumer.senate.gov) January 28, 2025 at 1:42 PM

In the dark of night, Trump shut off billions—maybe trillions—that support small businesses, families, police officers, firefighters, hospitals, schools, and more. Why? To fund tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy.

You won't be surprised to learn that the brain dead leftists out there like Ken Klippenstein have been leading people to care more about Schumer's statements and how inadequate they are meant to be than about this crisis itself. Meanwhile, that piece of [!@#$%^&*] Jon Stewart has been working hard to minimize what Trump is doing and telling us we shouldn't care as no one even knows how many federal attorneys there are.

This is why Trump gets away with whatever he does. So many are bought and paid for, waiting to play mind games and make sure everyone else is made to take the blame.

Okay so ... to sum it up: Trump FROZE all federal spending until each agency can prove to him that they will follow his agenda.  They have to fill out a review form to state their intentions and he will read it and decide afterwards whether to give them money or not.
The funding would be frozen ("paused") for a week, and agencies have one week to prove that they follow his line of idiocy.

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/federal-judge-halts-trump-freeze-on-federal-grants-and-loans-for-a-week

The full scope of the administration’s review was spelled out in a 51-page spreadsheet sent to federal agencies and viewed by The Associated Press. Each line was a different government initiative, from pool safety to tribal workforce development to special education.

Officials were directed to answer a series of yes or no questions for every item on the list, including “does this program promote gender ideology?” or “does this program promote or support in any way abortion?” Responses are due by Feb. 7.

Trillions of dollars are potentially under review. Grants that have been awarded but not spent are also supposed to be halted if they might violate one of Trump’s executive orders.

“The use of Federal resources to advance Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies is a waste of taxpayer dollars that does not improve the day-to-day lives of those we serve,” wrote Matthew Vaeth, the acting director of the Office of Management and Budget, in a memo distributed Monday.

Vaeth wrote that “each agency must complete a comprehensive analysis of all of their Federal financial assistance programs to identify programs, projects, and activities that may be implicated by any of the President’s executive orders.” He also wrote that the pause should be implemented “to the extent permissible under applicable law.”

The pause on grants and loans was scheduled to take effect at 5 p.m. ET, just one day after agencies were informed of the decision.

Then the update from less than an hour ago:

A federal judge (U.S. District Judge Loren L. AliKhan) on Tuesday January 28
temporarily blocked a push from President Donald Trump to pause federal funding while his administration conducts an across-the-board ideological review to uproot progressive initiatives.

In other words, Judge AliKhan blocked the one-week freeze (aka "pause").
The order from U.S. District Judge Loren L. AliKhan came minutes before the funding freeze was scheduled to go into effect.

AliKhan, who was appointed by President Joe Biden, said in halting the freeze, “It seems like the federal government currently doesn’t actually know the full extent of the programs that are going to be subject to the pause.”

They really aren't rational if they think they can tell a private corporation to stop DEI.
