Just some random thoughts:

Obviously, it goes without saying, last night did not turn out the way we had hoped.  I know I'm not happy to see Donald Trump back in the WH.  I'm not SURPRISED, but I'm not happy either.

I think this is the moment when we need to accept, however reluctantly, that this is who we are and always will be.  We keep hoping and praying for our so-called better angels to intervene, but now is the time to admit that those better angels just aren't there.

It's one thing for Donald Trump to win the electoral vote again, but to win the popular vote as well this time, and perform better than expected in certain categories?  Again, folks, this is who we are, and this is what we always will be.

I'm sure many will pick apart Kamala Harris' campaign in the days and weeks ahead and determine where she went wrong, but you can include me out of those conversations.  I think Kamala Harris (and Tim Walz) ran a great campaign.  Ultimately, though, there isn't any one thing that she could've said or not said, done or not done, to change one indisputable fact: she's Black, and a woman, and that's a combination that the majority of this country simply doesn't want in its' leaders.

Mark my words: the Democratic Party will NEVER nominate another woman for president.  Not as long as there still is a Democratic Party.  If a woman ever becomes president - and that's a big if at the moment - she will be a Republican or an Independent.  You'll see a gay man become president before you see a woman become one.  (Again, mark my words).  It might be a hard truth for many to accept, but I think we'll have to accept it if we have any hopes of retaining whatever remains of our sanity.

I had said that I would consider relocating to MN if Kamala Harris and Tim Walz were to lose the election.  Who knows, I said, it might be kinda fun to live out my fantasies of living like Mary Richards.  Well....

Correction. I think I will have to disconnect from the whole web. This has been such a hardcore devastation to my psyche and I feel like if I continue... Even posting about it, I'll spiral into some kind of stomach ulcer or worse.

I want to send a huge hug to everyone that feels alone, broken and disappointed like me today. You are not alone. Do whatever you need to do to recover and keep your head up high.

I will never ever NOT be grateful to the amazing Kamala Harris.

This is it for me for now.

Have a great night everyone. Take care and be strong.

If I could, I would pack up my things and just get the hell out of here. But I can't because I'm an autistic woman living on disability and I can't leave my family behind either, especially my parents and my widowed aunt. Even before this election I had been toying with the possibility of maybe fleeing either to Canada or even the U.K.

Maybe I should still consider that option. I just don't know how I'm going to endure another four years of Trump, especially now that he has the Supreme Court AND Congress at his beck and call. I guess I'll just live as a recluse for the next four years and eat my feelings by devouring God knows how much junk food. Good thing I have an event to go to tomorrow and I know I'll be stuffing myself with pizza and Coca Cola and whatever desserts people might've brought. Also I have two associate's degrees and a bachelor's degree but I don't know how good they are going to be now.

Well, @marceline was right: we need to get ready for President Vance.  Because, while Donald Trump can outrun a great many things, including the law, he cannot outrun death (no matter how many randos try and pick him off).  And believe you me, that man is on borrowed time.

I doubt this will affect the presidential results in Pennsylvania, but it might affect local/state and congressional results?

Centre County ’s unofficial election results are delayed after the county’s election software failed to correctly transfer the data from mail-in ballots on Election Day.

via the Centre Daily Times, for Centre County, Pennsylvania
(home of Penn State University)
https://www.centredaily.com/news/politics-government/election/article295130864.html

This came from a release from the Centre County board of commissioners:
https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/25274305-11624-centre-county-elections-update

In a release Wednesday morning, the county said about 13,000 vote-by-mail ballots will need to be rescanned, a process that will begin Wednesday morning. The county made “several attempts” Tuesday night and into early Wednesday to transfer the scanned mail-in ballot data into the county’s election software, the release states, but it didn’t work. “Centre County elections staff will start scanning these ballots this morning. We will continue re-scanning these ballots until complete. Re-scanning efforts will take place in the Willowbank Building in Bellefonte,” the release states. “Watchers from both major parties will be present in the room throughout the re-scanning process, even before re-scanning begins.”

It wasn’t until 12:30 a.m. Wednesday that the county issued a release stating that although all ballots (including mail-in ballots) had been scanned, it was having issues with mail-in ballot data. The county said it was working with the ballot scanner vendor to export the election results. “Centre County’s Election team and IT team have identified that the data are successfully being exported from the mail-in ballot scanners, but that the data is not being recognized when uploaded to the elections software,” the previous release stated. Around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, the county said tabulation of mail-in ballots was complete but the results couldn’t be placed into a report form.

One Centre County race, House District 82, has not been called. Incumbent Democrat Paul Takac has a narrow lead over Republican Therese Hollen, with 88% of votes counted. The AP called the race for House District 77 around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday with Democrat Rep. Scott Conklin leading Republican challenger Marie Librizzi with 76% of votes counted. Other races in Pennsylvania, including the key Senate race between Sen. Bob Casey and Dave McCormick, are also not called as of early Wednesday morning. Some races were called earlier on Election Night, however, including 15th Congressional District and Senate District 25.

I'm presuming that the situation in Gaza had much to do with Kamala Harris underperforming (compared to Joe Biden) among young voters.  Young voters likely wanted her to condemn Israel outright and back Palestine...which only goes to show that young people have much to learn when it comes to Israel and Palestine.

But OLDER voters shifting toward Democrats?  So, we're making headway with Meemaw and Boompaw, but now we're losing Brayden and Heavenleigh.  Good grief, lol.

    • I think someone said it did exist, but I can't remember.
    • The bit with the scarf reminds me of the fabled stuffed animal scene with Rick and Phillip. (That wasn't debunked, was it?)
    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
    • I 100% agree but I think this is due to how the show is structured. It's a one family show which means there are no people in her age range that could be used as friends or contemporaries of her. The show definitely needs a second main family. I am glad someone finally said this. Especially now that the cast is gelling in their roles, he stands out like a sore thumb. No energy, no chemistry with anybody. He is just there.  I thought that was odd as well! The previous scene would've worked better as a tag for the credits.
    • That's the one and only Carrie Nye (Mrs. Dick Cavett) as Susan Piper, a deadly realtor. I don't want to spoil a lot if you ever want to see those episodes. She returns as another character in 2003. I think Grant has aged well and he always did a good job at being ripped without going too far, but he was never entirely my cup of tea either. I did think John Bolger was hot.
    • Totally agree. KKL looks great! It makes the Widge groveling so bizarre. Brooke needs to leave FC and with $B's/Liam's funding launch a rival fashion house with Hope, Rick, Katie and a secret designer. The best scenario is that Rick has been absent because he's been with very much alive C2, who is revealed on the runway as the secret designer. It'll never happen because B&B is comfortable just focusing on FC and the Forresters Marones v. Logans. But it'd been so much more interesting if the Spencers/Logans united.

    • Haha that scarf thing did go on a bit too long, very odd. And what a young Rick!  I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I just never got the physical appeal of Grant Aleksander, but he's definitely a great actor. Who is the older lady around the 8:30 mark, and also ends the episode, alone and in pain? She seems like a really interesting character. I love the smoky voice and sultry, snaky vibe she seems to have.
    • I can't remember exactly but I think she lives in or is part of the cottage story with Carrie. Carrie poisons her in this episode.  I forgot Teresa was on the show. (I see that AI is insisting she wasn't - well they're wrong) Poor Maeve. I can how even she had her limits.
