The main one that annoys me is David Axelrod opening his tomb again to chide Democrats for being too eager and overconfident when it's so clear that isn't the case. He also repeatedly needs to remind everyone he thinks Trump will win. That's a very valid fear, but I don't say it with the same scolding glee he can barely hide.

He's just mad he's not in the big chair anymore. Happens to a lot of those guys.

CNN (or any number of networks) always try to set the agenda in the early minutes or hours and then get blown back by public opinion and grudgingly walk it back. The speeches all went fine (well, except Raskin) and Biden did great. I think a lot of the Beltway heads were quietly hoping Joe was going to be sundowning on camera or something after 8 PM.

Ashley Biden also gave quite a speech. She's someone I could see running someday.

Biden's full speech (timestamped):

I love how you can see some of the family and Kamala all talking to and coaching little Beau at the end of the video of the speech above - CBS has a closer angle than the main DNC feed. I forgot he was just a little baby in Joe's arms for the inauguration night four years ago.

Every minute of this lengthy video is worth it. I hope they put a YT link up in the AM.

Hillary full speech WOW

amazing

It makes me so angry and sad to think about where we are now compared to where we would have been if she had won in 2016. The world would have been a much better place. I'm sure she got a kick out of hearing the crowd chant "lock him up" though.  ^_^  She deserved that.

I absolutely agree. Or if someone else had the Democratic nominee over her.

The music on the scene is currently playing (I am not making this up) The Doobie Brothers' "What a Fool Believes."

Edit: California

Apparently, per TwitX, the state roll call is happening now at the DNC. And each state is using a song tied to each state. Don't know all, but from what I have seen in clips/read:

"Lose Yourself" for Michigan.

"Kiss" for Minnesota.

"Shipping Up To Boston" for Massachusetts

"Empire State of Mind" for New York

"Born In The USA" for New Jersey

"Firework" for Nebraska

"Don't Stop Believin'" for New Hampshire

"Mr. Brightside" for Nevada

"Twistin' The Night Away" for Mississippi

"Texas Hold 'Em" Instrumental for Texas (Duh!)

"Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" for Indiana

"Ain't No Mountain High Enough" for Northern Mariana Islands Territory

"Take Me Home Country Roads" for West Virginia

"California Love" for California (again, duh!)

That was all per a list I read and by clips watched. Some reasons are obvious. Others, apparently...The Killers [Mr. Brightside], as an example, come from Nevada, etc.

As for the other states...I'm sure the songs can be tracked down eventually.

Thanks. That sounds fun.

Just read that, even though "Kiss" [by Prince, naturally!] was played for Minnesota, they passed on the roll call, as did California.

Not a surprise as they probably want to be last to push Harris/Walz over the top.

Oh, wow.

Finding more roll call videos. And for Texas, Eva Longoria introduced the daughter of the late Gov. Ann Richards, Cecile Richards, said daughter being the former head of Planned Parenthood.

Which led to another introduction: Kate Cox, the woman that had to flee Texas for an abortion. And, more awesomeness, per the video, thanks to getting that care, she announced her pregnancy and is due in January!
