The House and Senate, having voted in separate rooms about Pennsylvania,

then reconvened in joint session
and both officially reported that they had "rejected the objection" to Pennsylvania's electoral college votes.
Which means Pennsylvania now accepted.

The joint House/Senate session then went through the remaining states in alphabetical order.

Wisconsin now - objection from Representative, but no Senator objected.
Therefore the objection is disregarded, and ...

Wisconsin's electoral votes are accepted.

AND the final state Wyoming accepted!

The are now announcing the final tally of accepted Electoral College votes!

Applause!

President: Biden 306.   Trump 232.

Vice-President:  Harris 306.  Pence 232.

Pence who is the presiding officer declares the election final/certified.

And now the closing prayer.

Pence declares adjournment with a gavel.

"Pence, McConnell defy president

I can't take any more of this scum. He can't be allowed to hold the office for another day.

And to think I was so hopeful when I woke up this morning. Dems had taken the Senate. McConnell was suffering. Only 2 weeks to go until that rancid yam was gone. I knew the MAGAt rally was happening but I assumed the police would shut it down rather than, you know, open the frigging doors and let them in. And after all of that it looks like nothing is going to happen to Trump save for a few angry speeches and the resignation of the party planning committee. He needs to go. Not just for him but so the next facist down the road doesn't look at this and realise nobody reacts and they can do whatever they want.

Agreed. I'm not surprised at how quickly we are back to "normal," right down to the usual anonymous sources telling us how Concerned and Angry Trump enablers are, and the empty reminders of how we are all in this together and we are better than this (when the main difference between now and many past years of right wing extremism is we have unedited video footage), but it's still incredibly dispiriting.

I don't like Chris Hayes, who exploited a mentally ill grifter to try to salvage Bernie's campaign, but underneath all the usual empty self-important blather from him and Maddow, solid points are made.

The FBI is now swooping in and taking names of many of the people identified on video today.

I do not think this is over or that we're done with what will happen to Trump over this. Further, he is never going to be able to run again, and his influence in the GOP (not in his followers) ends today.

Jared and Meadows both notably MIA. From what I've heard the inner circle inside is down to them, Trump's longtime driver and Miller, maybe one or two more.

You will never see the Trumps active inside legitimate GOP political infrastructure again.
