I hope the maneuver to replace Biden is indeed worth it, lawd because if its not, then the blame surely will fall at the feet of Pelosi and Co.

it’s really a no-win situation. if biden had stayed in and trump won, the blame would also have fallen at the feet of the democrats who didn’t intervene.

at least now, we have a fighting chance.

I do hope the relationship between the two recovers. I suspect it will eventually since Joe is already saying she did what she had to do. I may not be happy about how any of it happened, but that Times article is right: Pelosi is a heatseeker. She has no calculus but winning.

she may have no calculus but winning, but she also has feelings. and i do not doubt for a second that this was, will always be a painful decision.

what’s at stake is just so much larger than one person’s feelings. and, as you noted, he is already acknowledging that reality.

i, too, hope their relationship recovers.

"They're going to make D.C. and Puerto Rico states!" is right up there with "They're coming for your guns!" in the phantom fears department.

Biden has earned the right to recite his list of “I told you so’s”. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that media will give this as much ink and attention as they did carping on his age and his son Hunter.

RFK Jr. knows his campaign is DOA, so now he's trying to leverage his base for a job.  If Team Kamala turns him down, I've no doubt he'll go to Team Trump next.  That man has turned out to be a HUGE disappointment, and that's saying something for a Kennedy, lol.

I only hope he stays in because he tends to take more votes away from Trump than Harris.

Also, CNN noted that he's already made the same offer to Trump.

I saw that his son Conner just got engaged, and my first thought was that I'm certain Taylor Swift is grateful that she dodged that bullet and is no longer associated with that family.

Finally, I don't know why anyone pays attention to a Colorado congress person who got less than 35,000 votes, but Lauren Boebert said today that VP Harris is the least educated presidential candidate in history.  Mind you, the Vice President has a JD from UCSF, and Boebert didn't obtain a GED until 2020.

Sounds a bit dog-whistle-y, insinuating her education doesn't count.

Trump has only a Bachelors of Science (Wharton; not even an MBA). Biden also has a JD (Syracuse). Truman took some bookkeeping and typing courses at college but did not finish. That's not even thinking about Republicans' what-have-you-done-for-me-lately self-educated hero hero Lincoln.

Not even a subtle whistle, but nobody ever assumed Boebert was either demure or intellectual.

It's going to be extremely difficult, if not impossible, for either of them to beat Trump, given his advantages. The main difference may be downballot. The downballot effects are what pushed them to want Biden out. If it ends up being a bloodbath in November, then they were wrong, but I can understand their reasons (I'm just sorry it got so ugly, especially that George Clooney op-ed).
