Behold Justin Harris, the Arkansas lawmaker who "re-homed" his adopted daughters to the pedophile that raped one of them.

(Note: Wonkette is a bit of a satire site but the news they report is real. I'm linking there because the article links to multiple local sources.)

If you've never heard of re-homing, it's a practice where people who no longer want to keep children they've adopted just give them away. Reuters did a series on the practice back in 2013. It made me look at my friends who've adopted with a whole new level of respect.

I read about that yesterday :( It says a lot about our current culture that not only is this man not going to face anything for what he did, but one of his colleagues even went on a threatening tirade against the reporter, telling him he'd "burn in hell."

And that's what makes me think this is just a ring of pedos. That guy, Nate Bell, completely lost his mind for no reason so I suspect he's had some part in all this ugliness. I desperately hope that the Feds get a warrant for these guys' computers. They are probably chock full of all kinds of nastiness. This re-homing foulness is nothing but child trafficking.

Harris also runs a "Christian" day care (that receives a ton of Federal money, of course) and earlier this year he pushed a bill that would say that child care centers no longer be required to sprinkler systems. I'm terrified that he's going to burn that school down to cover up evidence. This whole thing is disgusting from top to bottom.

James Carville said it best when he went on Andrea Mitchell. He said the media has two rules, one for the Clintons and one for everyone else, that nobody did anything illegal, and that Mitchell and media take their cues from right wing talking points. He also said there was little to gain by responding to this scandal because no matter what the Clintons say it will never be enough and that years of every -Gate imaginable manufactured by the media shows that the Clintons have very little to gain indulging the media or republicans.

I read another essay that said the Clintons know all they have to do is stonewall until a new news item comes along and the media forgets this one. The Clintons having secrets is old news, and the media needs new news.

Why would she not run? If there was anything truly scandalous in these emails than someone received them and they could potentially leak out. Bill seems to be in decent health and he would be a great asset to her. There are no history making black candidates running this time to steal thunder away from a history making woman candidate, so she has the whole history caucus on her side. Who are the republicans going to send against her? If she runs I think she will win despite general resistance to older women by the US.

I meant the operations he had a few years back.

If she runs and loses again, after being trashed by the press and by many in both parties, I think she'd be horribly demoralized, even worse than 2008. And there are a lot of Republican empty suits who would be formidable (like Scott Walker), due to Obama fatigue. That's why I wonder if she'll go through with it.

Politico attempt at a gush-fest on media darling Tom Cotton. This is thin gruel by Politico standards - I guess it's hard to try to have a circle jerk over him when so many major Republicans in the Senate notably refused to get involved, or are now, like that preening nobody Graham, trying to do a little dance and act like they didn't want to sign on and it's all Obama's fault.

Now some "aides" (AKA the senators are too gutless to speak up) are saying the letter was a "joke" and Democrats just don't have a "sense of humor."

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/03/10/republicans-admit-that-iran-letter-was-a-dumb-idea.html

I read that Megyn Kelly, the most effective mouthpiece of "serious" Republicans, grilled Cotton last night, so I guess they aren't thrilled.

Hey, at least he can run for President now! He'll probably get the nod in no time.

Speaking of that, one creep endorses another.

    • And of course Mama Ru herself appeared on All My Children.
    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
    • @Maxim Great to see your mini-reviews again. There are a number of clips on Youtube of Janice's slow mental breakdown, especially as we go into January 1980. Christine Jones is just superb. She played the hell out of that role. Something which isn't referenced as much later on is how Mitch pushed Janice's doubts and mental instability for his own ends...until suddenly he didn't want to anymore (I guess he caught on with the audience and the show became wary). I don't want to post a bunch of clips, but this one has a very good confrontation between Rachel and Janice.

This has a good scene around 7 minutes in where you can see Janice struggling internally with her need to identify herself so much by the men around her, all of which helps lead to her crackup.
    • It really made Oscar the Doorman seem like an imbecile.   I think the show's unusual format & subject manner is what makes EON often seem less "dated" and "old-fashioned" than other shows from that time period.  It never attempted to be especially "trendy" or "modern" -- and its film noir style is pretty timeless.
    • Dallas, Dynasty, Knots and Falcon Crest all had good runs but by 85 they had seen better days. I think they were a victim of the format. After several seasons seeing the same characters front and center viewers were bored. What was once fascinating grew predictable. JR, Alexis etc had to be front and center and after a while their schemes and shtick grew repetitive. JR remarrying Sue Ellen, Alexis constantly trying to get he better of Blake etc Unlike daytime, there wasn't the flexibility to bring in other stories and characters and maybe let the likes JR go backburner. That same mentality also invaded daytime with characters like  Sonny and Victor still peddling the same stuff after decades. I guess the same could be said for MSW eg every week Jessica encounters a crime and solves it,but I think viewers come to that format with a different mindset.
    • Daphnee and Trisha did a live stream on Instagram and confirmed they find out if the show gets picked up in May. This pretty much confirms they're on the primetime schedule like the Bell soaps. Fingers crossed we get a multi-year renewal announcement soon!  https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJSsYb7PDv8/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
    • I don't think Lois the character was there.  The Lois we knew from the 90s has pretty much died with this  Gio story crap.
    • Have to agree re MM. The goody two shoes character and writing doesn't help but maybe a more dynamic actor would help Brandon lift his game also. I found the song sequence a little OTT. First of all it should have been shorter and maybe the song fades out and just some music to accompany the montage. I think it would have worked better if Anita had have been alone after everyone left and started tinkling leading into the song, with Vernon coming in observing and then joining her for  a close moment. Everyone standing around felt a little too much. And that closing effect with the two blackscreens meeting was unnecessary. Just a fade out would have been enough.
