Well they picked up for me today....I got Viki and Charlie, maybe not together but that will happen tomorrow.

There wasn't much for me to watch on the show over the summer, I did however catch it whenever Charlie or Tina were on because they are the ones I wanted to see with Viki gone, now that Viki is back and the story seems to be moving at a faster pace, I am really enjoying the show. There are still some things I don't care about, so I FF them but for the most part, I'm getting back into the grove of watching or having something to look forward to.

That said....I LOVED it when Charlie showed up at Viki's, cannot wait to see them tomorrow.

I really like Gigi and Rex, or I did until 1968. I still like them but they are currently way overexposed, and Farah is simply too inexperienced to handle this. Even I have started wincing at the faces she makes in the last couple days. I may side with Gigi over Adriana but Melissa Fumero's work in this story has been incredible (and incredibly evenhanded by the writers, IMHO) and she just makes FF look bad by comparison. Gigi and Rex need some serious downtime for the audience to tolerate them again; I'm hoping they will get it, because I've gotten awfully sick being one of their few remaining defenders online.

I still like Rex and Gigi. You are not one of the few defenders online. Rex and Gigi have plenty of fans but many who don't see the point in arguing the same points over and over, especially since it won't change anyone's mind. As much as I love this pairing I do agree downtime can do wonders for those who are still on the fence about them. From what I hear is they will be dealing with their relationship and Shane up until the New Year.

As for today's show it was pretty good with my favorite parts being:

Gigi leaving Bo the oh so subtle message of "what she is not going to do"

and

Viki and Charlie stares.

Does this show feel disjointed or choppy this week or is it just me. I can't seem to get into any of the storylines right now no matter how hard I try. Ray being shot fell flat to me because I don't know who Vanessa is and I don't care. Rex and Gigi can be good, when there not on every day. I really like Fath but I don't think she can handle this pace yet. I feel like the show is trying to wrap everything up into one neat ball but for me it doesn't all fit together. The scenes feel way too short to get any sense of emotion out of them and the flow of the show seems off. One thing that I always liked about RC is that he tied all of his storylines and scenes together so that when one exploded it would cause an avalanche. I don’t see how Tina and Cain fit into Ray, Dorian and Clint. Please ABC, let RC write this show by himself and get Brian Fronz another pet project.

It's all a matter of preference. I hate when they're on the same days as stuff I am really interested in. The more I see of them, the less I like them. But I feel the same way about a lot of stuff. More and more all the time. I liked Viki and Charlie today, for the first time. I never hated them, but I just didn't care. Today was good for them. I miss Dorian.

I agree! They bring a lightness and a passion and...I find them to be a reason to tune in. I'm watching as I type this, and I'm loving the suspense of Gigi trying to sneak in to see Rex.

I'd say she was 100% better than, say, Andrea Evans. But she is in that same campy vein. (I wish SHE had been Flash!). I didn't like her on DOOL, but she really is a lot of fun for me on OLTL.

Adrianna is a lot of fun now too!

How convenient that Tess is now hiding out at Todd's house. She's in perfect proximity for him to deliver and steal her baby, give it to Marcie, and let everyone beleive that there was a miscarriage and that Tess was responsible. Tess wont be around to defend herself bc of course by then Jessica will have returned and not know what the heck just happened to her and her baby. I avoid the spoilers but does anyone else have a feeling that this is whats going to happen?

BTW, loved the Todd/Tina stuff. They really should have been interacting more

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
