Members Soaplovers
I'll leave to hear Donna's take on Abby's season 2 arc. To me..it was my favorite season of Abby..it was her most carefree season.
Members Franko
I've been working my way through the end of Season 2 and start of Season 3. The ending of "Secrets," with Richard & Laura alone on their back porch, together in only the physical sense, is just chilling. Also, I found myself wondering if Lilimae was going to repurpose the bouquet that wasn't in "The Surprise." She seemed unnaturally fixated on it, like she was going to turn it into potpourri, or an accessory to her dress. Members Franko
Continuing my journey through Season 3. It's a testament to Val's inherent decency that she never slapped the hell out of Lilimae.
Members Darn
I’m in the middle of season five and I’m having a good time except Diana is impossible. She’s a miserable malcontent with everyone except Chip and the actress is just downright terrible. I hate her stupid voice (plus she sounds congested all of the time) and her stupid hair. She’s exhausting. I’m not the biggest fan of Karen but not even she deserves a child like this brat. This Cathy story feels empty and a little desperate? I love Lisa Hartman and I miss Ciji a lot (I can see why viewers were so upset at the time, she was so innocent and did not deserve all of these crazy people pushing their issues onto her! And now she’s dead!) but let’s move on.

Members Khan
That's one of the things that I loved about the "Who Killed Ciji Dunne?" mystery. For once, the victim wasn't this supremely evil person who had terrorized everyone and given them all motives to kill them. Instead, Ciji was this person who just wanted to be a successful recording artist, but found herself in the middle of all these crazy people with their crazy issues, and who was just plain sick and tired and wanted to be done with all of them. Members kalbir
Well it was the 1980s. So many in Hollywood were indulging back then.
Members DRW50
I was looking at an article from 1982 which described Brookside (which was also set on a cul-de-sac) as "Knots Landing, scouse-style." I knew Knots ran in the UK, I even saw a clip on Points of View complaining about how many times the show had been preempted by the BBC, but I didn't realize it was already an easy press reference there by '82.
Members Chris B
I'm probably a third through season 11 and I always go back and forth on my thoughts of this season. Right now I see them throwing so many ideas out there that it can feel muddled. So much potential I feel is wasted. Danny, Amanda and Paula - I feel like the writers enjoyed having their own new characters to showcase but none of these characters fit on the show. All of the actors are good but not for Knots Landing. The Danny story in particular doesn't work because it's coming off the Jill saga. I don't believe Val would be so dumb and dismissive of Gary to fall for such an obvious creep. It also doesn't help that Amanda and Gary have no chemistry. Why they tried to keep Paula going is beyond me because she was never interesting. The Next Generation - They did such an amazing job setting up a next generation that they completely botched in the end. It makes absolutely no sense that Olivia is struggling and pinching pennies when she has Gary and Greg as stepfathers, Karen as her aunt and Valene as a close friend. You mean to tell me that none of these millionaires could help her get a job? I don't understand why they didn't just throw all of the young characters to the Sumner Group and let the sparks fly. Oakman - I actually really enjoy this storyline. I love when Knots does a good mystery and this one is fun. The only downside is that I do feel it doesn't involve enough of the cast. Maybe they could've included Pat and Karen more, which brings me to... The Williams Family - The did such a good job of establishing these characters but it's like they just gave up on Pat. She's largely been an extra all season either absent or appearing in the background. I just don't understand it. The chemistry with Val and Karen was there, the chemistry with Frank (and Gary) is there. It doesn't make sense that they just suddenly stopped writing for her and I don't blame Lynne Moody for being upset by it. Overall I'm finding the episodes to be watchable but the Danny story is the one thing that kills it for me. I just can't buy Val being this dumb at this point in the story.
Members Khan
That storyline is probably KL at its' most plot-driven. Val has to be the "village idiot" in order for that story to work. Otherwise, the minute she wises up to Danny, it's over (and it was).
Members Franko
Finished "Cricket." If I ever met Joan van Ark, my nerdy fan question would be "Did Val and Rusty have sex?" Also, Karen offering Joe her hypothetical eggroll makes me wonder if there was ever a time anyone considered Michele Lee for Gypsy.
Members Vee
I preferred the ambiguity of Sid and the lady mechanic played by Karen Wexler's mom from GH (Denise Galik?) in Season 2. (Though I don't think he slept with her either.)
Members Franko
Yup, Sid and Linda didn't sleep together. Now I wish I'd have kept track of everybody's relationships.
