I'm one step worse than YRBB...I have a tape of Brad Carlton's "rap song" to Ashley Abbott (a young Don Diamont to Brenda Epperson)...he was asking her to marry him, singing "When Will You Say Yes?".

That BELONGS on Youtube. But I have to figure out how to take a tape and make it digital...without wanting to buy all the intervening equipment :).

There WAS a time when Diamont was a light force on the show (more good than bad), decent eye candy. We never knew his motivations...he was always an opportunist and a concealer...but there was none of the nasty backstabbing of today's Brad. We actually believed that Brad genuinely cared for Ashley.

Now...this character is reduced to cinders. I wonder if they can help him find his way. I've already thought...maybe Brad needs to go to an Israeli Kibbutz...put in some hard work...discover his spiritual and working class (ex-gardener) roots...and come back a decent man again. I'm wondering if some high profile returns will soon give Brad a story...and help him rediscover what was once good about him. Maybe even he just needs to go in a cage for a few months....

I can answer this! It is ".flv" (flash video). I _think_ that when you upload to youtube from many other common formats (e.g., wma, wmf, avi, mpg) that Youtube automatically converts. Right?

Please let us know when. I literally cannot wait. I guess you could say I had a bit of a young man's crush on her.

OMG, don't even mention tapes, I have a million Y&R episodes on them and I've got to sit down and figure how to convert them to DVD

That Brad scene sounds completely hilarious. I know that a lot of people can't stand Brad anymore and I don't blaim them. But Brad, in his own right, is a brilliant character. Some claim his smugness and that air of superiority are bad things about him, but that's just who Brad is. He's smug, manipulative, highly opportunistic like you said, but he was also very caring to the ones that he loved. And his looks didn't hurt. Don Diamont relished in the very specific writing that Bell did for him and that's why it worked. However, the terrible writing for him the last few years has not done him any favors.

I love Jess Walton, and when her character is written correctly she is sublime. Her knockout scenes in 1998 when she crashed Katherine's party to claim the estate as her own was nothing short of magnificent. Hell, TPTB used that as there submission for "Best Drama Series." As well, her work during the "Who Shot Victor" storyline was great too.

I agree with Cat that Hendrickson's work on Monday is astonishing, and the only thing worth watching on tomorrow's US episode.

Bless you!

If you have that era, I've got to ask...because this was a major point in my life :)

Do you have that 1983 episode where the Abbotts gathered in their living room to meet Madame Mergeron (who was trying to buy Jabot)...and it was revealed to be Dina? Mamie walked in, and her tray of champagne glasses crashed to the floor.

I would pay to see that scene again. Seriously, I would send you $$ :).

I'll take whatever you've got!

Not to steal your thunder, but I see you uploaded this great clip (right after Patty shot Jack...she's forgotten, but Jack is going to live). I want everyone to notice a drumbeat I have been beating for some time...

Andrea Evans was Patty, Paul's sister. She has since disappeared. Not even mom Williams knows where she is.

Now, AE also played Tawny, Amber's mother on B&B.

Please, please, please, please (I know I am alone in this, but still) PLEASE let them make the connection. AE (or someone else) comes to GC. It turns out Tawny and Amber are the same person. This ties Amber to the Wiliams. Also, it lets us follow the next beat in the tale of Patty Williams, someone I have missed for a long time.

    • I think Nicole is about to figure out what's going on between Andre and Dani.
    • @Efulton thank you. I don't know how I missed it or didn't recall it.  I'll blame amnesia . Anyway @Errol Could the newer thread be merged to the existing? Thanks in advance.
    • I just finished watching and I have to admit, not once did I find myself wondering who wasn't there. Quick question for anyone who followed this better than I did: was it only Andrew who rescued Cat and John from Clyde, or was Shane involved too? The reactions during their scenes today felt a little off to me. I know it was meant to be vague, but I didn't find it strange that they already knew each other.
    • Yeah, financially, Luna is in better shape than Deacon and Sheila.   -- Scott Clifton must have decided to chew the scenery in every scene of this "Liam is Dying" storyline. Yikes.
    • If J.R. wasn't busy with Ewing Oil, he'd be a heckuva soap recapper. He was SO gleeful at recapping Jenna-Bobby-Pam when the trio and Mark encountered each other at the Oil Baron's Ball. That being said, Lucy, presumably Sue Ellen and maybe Ray should all know this story, or at least part of it. Lucy was definitely at Southfork during Jenna and Bobby's relationship, and I believe Sue Ellen was about to marry J.R. around the time Jenna jilted Bobby. (Ray might not have given a damn.)

    • Broadcasting Magazine (May 5, 1980) : Future US-Next TV : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive From a May 1980 Broadcasting issue: Meredith Broadcasting in association with Alan Sloan Inc has committed itself to produce series of five half hours in soap opera form, "designed for youngers 11-14 and their parents." Programs, yet untitled, "will deal with problems teen-agers face in their relationships with peers and parents," with script topics reviewed in advance by teachers, psychologists and others. First episode is to air on Meredith's five TV's in September and ground broadcaster also anticipates syndication. If successful, idea is to go to full-fledged series.
    • Broadcasting Magazine (May 5, 1980) : Future US-Next TV : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive Looking at an old Broadcast issue with a fall schedule preview. Their description of the show: Lorimar Productions turns its cameras "below the surface of a small, traditional, thriving college town still large controlled by its founders, the Millingtons." Plot elements include "nurtured dreams, closely-held desires, closeted shame and vital truths about friends and family." Lee Rich, Michael Filerman and David Jacobs are executive producers of the Roundelay production, in association with Lorimar.  They also mention the show in a small section about advertising's point of view.  Advertising agency reaction to the new fall line-ups announced by ABC and CBS last week varied. But upfront, some agency types were apprehensive that their advertisers might be turned off by some of the new "titillating" entries. "I'm concerned about the amount of permissiveness," said one executive, with CBS' Secrets of Midland Heights commonly mentioned as one possible offender.
    • I just saw this. Thanks for sharing. The classic Y&R thread may enjoy your posts. It was in very poor taste for Andy Cohen to blindside MTS with that type of question, but I'm not surprised as he's an awful person.
    • The way Kat was acting today, it only enhances Silk Press Sheila's stalking accusations.   She certainly takes after her Aunt Dani. It took about 70 episodes, but the show seems to have finally understood that Ashley/Derek have to interact with the rest of the canvas in order to get viewers to care about them... or at least understand what their purpose for being on the show. Leslie vs Kat is a wonderful pairing.... and Leslie/Tomas was comically.   Dani's delusion that she's still Bill's wife.... no comment. I really hope that Eva doesn't turn out to be Nicole's child.. because I find the fall out from the anniversary party to be pretty good and there's more possibilities having Eva not being Nicole's child then being her child..imho.
