Really? You didn't see it for the joke that it was? At all award ceremonies, daytime/primetime/film, people who win will yammer on about how they have the best cast, best crew, best writers, etc. etc. etc. Cooper was making a tongue-in-cheek response to the usual hum-drum you see & hear at award ceremonies.

Well I can barely even remember him as Jamal on AMC--it was a really ill ocnceived "return" for the character--so I'd be bitter too... (Though I thought the only porn he did was the playgirl solo poses?)

It's always interesting when Susan Lucci comments on AMC cuz she works so hard not to say anything bad... I remember her admitting on the VIew that AMC had been unrecognizable for sometime (this was just when McTavish was rehired, after the Rayfield era)

Oh Zimmer and her BIG mouth....which the her little band of worshippers go on and on about how she "tells it like it is." Only the thing is, Zimmer only "tells it like it is," when it helps her and her contract negotiations, and its always about HER. I never read one thing about Kimmer telling it like it is about Zaslows treatment, when other people like the Jenna actress did. Now granted, I dont know how Zimmer felt about it, or what went down backstage, but she had more then enough clout and balls to get the cast together and complain to Rauchie....look at what that crazy broad RS did for Zaz. Did we hear anything from Zimmer on the firing of other castmates and longtime collegues, like JVD? No, at that time she was huffing and puffing in the press about the fact that she was asked to take a pay cut, when other actors being forced out.

Zimmer opens her mouth to help herself, unlike ES on OLTL, who actually speaks out because she is worried about the entire show, not just her portion of it.

I will say I love how so very blunt Kimberly McCullough was when Stuart Damon was fired after almost thirty years as Alan Quartermaine. Very short blurb, but I remember the mags were asking co-stars what they thought, and Kimberly said something like, "It's sickening, disrespectful, and it sucks. And you can quote me." Becky Herbst even criticized GH about it, too. I had respect for them.

I agree, Zimmer seems quite selfish every time she starts to bump her gums.... when Cady McClain started to speak out about writing and SL's in general, I really saw someone who CARED about her show, and the condition of daytime in general. And Erika Slezak... she's like the queen, nobody can go up against her and come out alive! I tell you who's opinions I'd like to hear, and that is Frances Reid!

Well first of all, JVD wasn't fired. He wasn't being written for and he found another role that suited him and he took it, and I am so glad he did because I am loving him as Clint Buchanan.

Secondly, call me a selfish bitch, but I don't find anything wrong with using one's clout to one's own benefit. I think we all do that. Some are more generous than others and more power to them. But I don't think anyone is obligated to put themselves on the line for anyone else and I don't see anything wrong with someone trying to negotiate the best deal they can, when they can. It's called savvy business sense. I know that when I went in to negotiate pay raises for myself I didn't worry about whether my salary was taking money out of somebody else's pocket.

Finally, I was comparing Zimmer's remarks about what goes on behind the scenes made in her recent interviews with Victoria Rowell's responses. I found them to be very similar. How that translates to worshipping Zimmer (or Rowell) in your mind escapes me, but you're entitled to your opinion. I think we all cut our favorites slack and tend to view their behavior more kindly than those we are neutral or negative about. My point is the behavior was very similar IMO and yet people react based upon their preconceived notions about these celebrities we really don't know personally. Both Zimmer and Rowell (as well as many others, these are just the examples I chose) seem to be very outspoken and willing to flex their muscles if they feel it's justified. You can argue the merits of what they consider justification, but I don't care to.

Okay, you need to step back a bit...I wasn't referring to you when I said "minions," I WAS indeed referring to her little group of die hards that Zimmer keeps in cages and releases when contract time comes up.

Okay, JVD WAS indeed fired. He was taken off of contract and did not have any air dates lined up for six weeks. That is fired in my book and anyone who was trying to make a living would feel the same way.

Okay, and while Zimmer is under no obligation to use her clout for anyone's benefit other then her own, when she chooses to make her contract negotiations public, in a very hungry, egocentric way, she must deal with the inevitable backlash of people finally getting sick of it. Lucci doesnt do it, Slezack doenst do it, hell, DH, who has her own little band of zombies doesnt even do that. Zimmer does it each time, and each time in a more obnoxious way. This go around she has linked up with Brad Cole's kool aid brigade to push for what she wants (the lady is getting desperate, she knows this is her last go round as GL is about to bite the dust and she might be over her expiration date as "soap goddess.")

She also is under no obligation to go about her contract negotiations with class and finesse..(uh, say like Lucci and Sleazak) so true to form each time she is as crass and obnoxioius about it as possible. However, she and her fans, need to deal with the fact that there will be a backlash when she puts her foot in her mouth. She comes across as classless and clueless everytime her cycle comes up, not the least of which was when seven people got fired and she was whineing about having to take a paycut. Sorry, ANYONE at any company would have just kep their mouth shut and negotiated quietly behind the scenes. I have lived through lay offs of longtime employees and coworkers and no way would anyone I know be that crass to whine about themselves when they still had a job!

She also is under no obligation to act like she cares about the show as a whole. (This cycle it is painfully obvious that this is the case and Zimmer is ridingher cash cow and screw everyone else.) However, when she makes it painfully obvious that SHE feels she is the center of the GL universe, and its about her and not the show itself, then she and her fans gotta take the backlash. ES only opens her mouth to the press and talks about the show, Zimmer talks about HER airtime, blah, blah, blah. Even Ehlers and for christ sake RPG bemouned the fact that GL is not GL, anymore, but Zimmer, who dates back to the Charita Bauer days only goes on about herself. So Zimmer is very like VR in that it is all about herself and she comes off as almost as deluded.

She is free to do so, and other people are free to call her on her bullshit.

Perhaps I misunderstood. You quoted my post, so I therefore presumed your remarks in their entirety were directed at me. I am not very familiar with you, so I can't be sure which parts of your commentary were in direct response to me, and which are for general consumption or were directed at the "minions" to whom you refer.

Point taken. I stand corrected.

What you call "hungry and egocentric" I call flexing muscles and playing hardball. It's sometimes gritty and not very ladylike and I don't expect everyone to approve of the tactics, but then if the negotiator's tactics are designed to achieve objectives that don't necessarily include approval at the top of their list, it may prove effective nonetheless. I completely agree that both Zimmer and Rowell have to deal with the backlash their behavior elicits, and it appears you and I are also in agreement that their tactics are similar. That was my original point to R. Sinclair in the post you responded to. He was implying that there was some clear divergence between Rowell's tactics vs. Zimmer's, while I disagree.

As I looked back I saw that I did indeed quote your post ..so it is perfectly understandable that you would think I was referring to you. My apology on that.

Totally agree that it is hardball and hey, its a tough business and KZ can take care of herself. Good for her on that count ( She would have been a master of political hardball at the MGM lot of the thirties andfourties.)

And you know what I LIKE KZ and Reva. ...I just think that she has insulated herself with her band of synchophants and doesnt realize how crass she sounds.

My apologies again if it seemed as if I was attacking.

    • Teach me to post cocky about all these rampant relations! As for the cut, it just made Leo Howard look more stunningly handsome. There are guys I think are hotter, but he's got the prettiest face hands down.
    • Yes Arianna and Sami are blood related through Sami and Theresa. They are also adoptive/honorary related because Arianna's third.parent is Sonny, which makes Arianna and Tate related through Justin and Isabella.
    • I saw more about Biden Old or the staged feud between Elon and Trump or just the usual distractions, but I will admit I don't stomach most of the news anyway.

They are blood related. Through Sami and Theresa. I didn't notice it last week, but it looked so fresh today. Like he got cut minutes before they started filming or something lol
    • Bill convinced the Governor to pardon Luna. Steffy was too busy badmouthing Hope & Brooke for most of the Spring to concern herself with such trivial matters.
    • There hasn't been a media blackout, there's been live coverage on national news all weekend.
    • There's been something of a media blackout, but beyond that the only reason it's getting any attention is because Trump and the Republicans and their sycophants in the press are trying to create riots to pave the way for martial law.  And of course all the people who care more about setting fires and destroying property than anything else are happy to help them.  I've seen more interest in people arguing about whether or not they should be waving Mexican flags and how American flags are tainted than I have in the cause, which just reinforces what a malaise we are in. Many who claim to care about immigration only care to the tips of their fingers, just like Palestine and the rest. But these policies what people voted for. As long as they personally aren't affected, they are eating all this decimation up.
    • I was happy to see Caroline again even in one short scene. This was her first appearance since April 3. I was wondering why we haven't seen her, since Hayley desperately needs a talk-to aside from Bill.  I am also wondering where Jacob's partner is. Does Marcel have an opinion on Jacob spending so much time on the Laura case? Especially since Marcel warned Jacob about allowing his family to get in the way of police business. I liked seeing some vulnerability from Leslie today when she begged Eva to give her the helmet and gloves back. I'm still wondering how she will get out of the corner she has been written into. When we were first introduced to Leslie, she seemed like she might be a Machiavelli but since then it's clear that she more of a haphazard villainess doesn't seem to have a long term plan aside from causing random chaos.  Chelsea's desperation is cringeworthy but I actually think it's fairly realistic for someone who is closeted or newly out.
