OK, I thought it was a pretty good episode.

I thought Cassandra's last day was Friday, but I guess it was today.

I enjoyed the scenes with Annie & Adam.

Ryan's initial reaction following Kendall & Greenlee's news wasn't expected.

Loved Adam inviting Erica to dinner just so she'd see Jackson and Carmen. CLASSIC!

Wait and see. I don't nearly have as many misgivings as I had when McTavish was announced in 2003 and then B&E last year. I knew that both of those tenures would not give me anything entertaining to watch.

Pratt, on the other hand, who knows? While I think he's a step up from B&E, I have to admit to having a WTF?!? moment when he was announced. Pratt and AMC don't automatically go together in my mind.

ETA: Which is why I deliberately chose not to watch during the transition period. I want to see HIS stuff credited as HIS stuff so I'll know exactly who to bitch and moan about.

Adam & Erica

I have to laugh at Ryan's idiocy, all he's done for YEARS is get in the middle of Kendall & Greenlee's lives, he will soon be getting in the middle of Greenlee's marriage like he did Kendall's.

Seriously this is the best they can come up with for Ryan, the same story every year?

Yeah, it was a good, solid episode again.

I'm going to miss Cassandra and her romance with Dre. I was sad to see her go.

Annie & Adam were really good. I hope this leads to a business partnership down the line.

Wasn't it great how Ryan turned the tables on Kendall & Greenlee? It petered out disappointingly for me after Kendall left, but his initially asking how Annie's actions were any different than theirs was perfect.

Adam's gloating at Erica's reaction to Jack & Carmen was priceless!

Ain't that the truth!

LOVE it as well. Im really enjoying Ryan today bc he even called out his own crap regading the situation. I love it when a character is self aware like that and recognizes their own faults.

Erica is such a back stabbing witch today, insinuating that Carmen is some type of slut, just to keep her from Jack

Loving the Annie/Adam connection so far

And for years Kendall has been getting in the middle of his life and still is. Ditto for Greenlee. They are all guilty of it. Im glad he called them both out. How dare they come down on Annie for getting pregnant with Ryan's kid on purpose when they both were involved in the same act, just alot worse with stealing sperm from a fertility clinic. At least Ryan could see that he'd be a hypocrite to come down on Annie for her lies when he's been no better in that category. K&G were dead wrong today, bc they are no better either, yet they fail to see that. I really wish they'd get the F out and leave Ryan and Annie to handle their OWN marriage. Those 2 women have their own husbands to worry about and need to leave Ryan and Annie alone already.

    • Well, the whole Doug Cummings story was a bit of a reference to the Willows...(gothic, dead wife, crazy assistant, Dream's End vs. Willows.)  While I am glad he came over to ATWT, I would have loved what he could do with GL at the time.  Bea Reardon was still on the canvas but not used, so he could have brought Lisa Brown back as Nola...(though getting past the Quolas would have been hard as she should have come back alone..) and built the Reardon's back up..He would have loved writing for Alex, and maybe brought Mike back to rebuild the Bauers and also he would be on the spot to write Bert's death. He could have reignited Vanessa and woken her up from her "I'm a Lewis," coma and  I do wonder what he would have done with Reva?
    • Of all the triangles Rauch and Co. were into...I can't believe they never revisited Harley and Jarsh. Well, I know its because they have to have two women fighting over one man and one woman is evil, but would have been cool to have a no villain triangle...(and saved us from Gush...) And it would have driven the Java nuts and Pharley nuts crazy!!!
    • Totally agree. AL isn’t suited to Summer written this way (which is, truthfully, in character). HK wasn’t credible in the boss-bitch moments, which AL plays more easily.

I’m glad Tripp is back in Salem and I like that he’s planning on being more assertive. He doesn’t deserve to get hurt again. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if some people in the Soap Universe are gonna be mad about his lines today Hopefully, we get some scenes of Johnny/Tripp and Wendy/Chanel. There haven’t been that many lately and this storyline definitely needs them. I think weaving Talia into it would be a good idea as well. She needs a new man now that the Colin storyline is over.  Rafe is still dumb. There really are no security cameras at that hospital that could have shown that Colin didn’t take Abe?? Speaking of Abe, his storyline is total ff material. James Reynolds deserves so much better than this.
    • I've been rewatching early SATC (am mid-season 2), and am enjoying the mid-90s indie film vibe of the show at that time. It was a bit tougher and grittier but it also showed some of the growing wealth of the city at that time. SATC was always about pecking order and jostling for a better position, but on the romantic frontlines. I also enjoyed the Bad Dating SLs LOL. I understand why it went the fairytale-ish route. Part of this mirrored the evolution of the city itself, as Manhattan became more moneyed and, dare I say, unaffordable. It was a glamorous city that many aspired to live in and conquer against the odds. Part of it was also, as the show progressed, our own growing investment in the main cast and their SLs. Hence less standalone episodes and more a continuing soapy story of romantic relationships. IMO, this was a fairly organic evolution.
