Sucks for Y&R, the show has been great. 3.7 isn't horrible, but it's pretty bad when you consider the show was hitting a 4.0 not too long ago.

It's ok considering they were hitting 3.3's earlier...shudders the thought. And considering they drop .3 in 18-49 a -.1 drop isnt that bad.

yeah but what does that say about Y&R which has no competition? where i live on the east coast of California Y&R comes on at 11:00am with no other soap airing at that time..well the rest of daytime is competing against each other. here's a list of Examples. this is basically what is shown in my time zone..oh and btw Y&R is the only soap to air in most countries and states.

Y&R. 11:00am. no competition

AMC 12:00pm. B&B 12:30pm

DOOL/OLTL/ATWT. 1:00pm

GH/GL. 2:00pm

as you can see Y&R is pretty safe. hence the high ratings.

and where I live in NY, GL comes on at 10AM with no other soap airing till Y&R at 12:30. GL gets no competition in some markets and still does poorly. I think it evens it out bc as you and I have both mentioned, different markets have their own schedules

I don't understand why ABC likes to brag about beating GL. I wonder what they think about losing to Y&R & B&B. & sometimes ATWT.

When you read any given network's spin on the numbers, they all spin them toward whatever they've got going for them & downplay anything that they don't. They are quite ridiculously hilarious to read side by side.

It is really is eye-opening what a small percentage of viewers are in that key demographic. It looks like two out of every three daytime viewers is age 50 or over. It looks like some of the decline in viewing stems from funerals.
