I don't think Ross is doing anything very different than the last time he was around. He was a shockingly badly written character at points in that run. I'm not surprised he has a hostile attitude toward the man who inadvertently caused him to be doused with acid.

(re: the acid) I understand.

I just hate how the Barton boys were wasted at the altar of Dingle women (specifically Debbie). That's always been my main gripe with them.

Why would Ross feel hostile towards Joe for the acid attack? That was all Debbie's doing. Blaming the intended victim makes no sense.

They never liked each other anyway. In Ross' mind he will always be the guy who was a prick to him and hurt his beloved Debbie.

That's true, and Ross was never the sharpest tool in the tool box anyway....

I didn't know that Patricia Haines, who played Laura Verney back in 1973 was the first wife of Michael Caine!   :o   Sadly she died very young of lung cancer, only 45 years old.

Lauraverney.webp

Laura must rate as one of the worst non-Dingle characters ever on this show in my opinion. There was really nothing likeable about her at all.

I didn't care for her on Emmerdale (not really her fault), but I know she is an icon. I was heartbroken to hear about her having dementia.

Yes it's sad. I remember her first and foremost from her sitcom "Birds of a feather", where one of her co-stars was another Emmerdale alumni, Alun Lewis (Vic Windsor).

She also had a role in a magical, star-studded adaptation of "David Copperfield" opposite names like Maggie Smith, Bob Hoskins, Dawn French, Ian McKellen, Nicholas Lyndhurst and a very young Daniel Radcliffe.

So, now

Spoiler

Aaron

is a murderer.

But does anyone think he will join other people on this show who committed crimes, like Robert, Steve, Steph or Nick and go to prison?? Of course not, and we all know why, don't we?   <_<

The "left him for dead" part makes me think someone else killed him. Given that they have apparently hinted of John Sugden killing people, my guess is it's him.

I wouldn't be surprised. Sacrificing a Sugden (however ill-conceived the character is) on the altar of a Dingle would be right up the alley for this show.
