Apparently, EastEnders will be clashing with Britain's Got Talent all next week, and the week after is the World Cup, so some strange and lower ratings are expected for the next two weeks...

I just revel in the Ben hate! I love the character for all the wrong reasons, mainly because he gets under the skin of so many! :lol: :lol:

So EE's weird pacing strikes again. Not that I will be sorry to see the destruction of the Masood family on a breather, but apparently Christian and Syed will not be seen for about 5-6 weeks. This story was already poorly done to begin with and these lengthy gaps just make it even more hollow.

I wonder how much of that was down to Patridge's commitment to Over The Rainbow, he had to miss the BSA's because of that.

But I'll gladly do without Christian and Syed, they need to be rested, for a long time.

I'm glad to get a break from them but the show has severely damaged Masood and Zainab as characters for this mess and that's just on hold? And once again, like when Syed married Amira, the more demanding material takes place offcamera, while endless variations of "Syed's eyes well up over (anything and everything)" and "Christian furrows his brow as he does his Joan Crawford impression" take up weeks and weeks of airtime.

Their story is pretty much over anyway, with the reveal already done, and Christian and Syed separated for now.

All that's left is Syed's crappy "how to make myself not gay" story, which I hope is just brushed over at some point.

I just hope they take some time to explore Zainab's point of view because as of now it's just oh, she's a horrible mother and a homophobe, she wants her son dead, poor Syed. I don't really care about Syed because he is such a one-note wet blanket no matter what scenes he has but Zainab used to be a great character before this story began.

I wonder if they plan on bringing Amira back at some point when Preeya's music career undoubtedly flops. Preeya's said as much in interviews.

Have you heard her first single "Shimmy?" I don't like it, but I'm not fond of Bhangra-pop.

It's OK (kind of reminds me of the old playground song, "Shimmy Shimmy coco pop..."), but it's a bit too busy and mechanical.

I liked Amira but the show treated her as just a plot device. I don't think we will see her again, unless it's for one or two days to clear up the bit about her being pregnant.

I'm watching clips of Sharon's 2001 return. I just LOVED the way it was handled, and the look on Peggy's face when she realized that Sharon had bought the Vic.

My PBS station was airing Sharon's final year or so of her original stint at the time, so I knew the character, and I was watching the show in near real time on BBC America at the time. So, I knew who Sharon was, but I didn't know at the time she was returning, so it really shocked me when she was the new owner of the Vic then.

Can we get rid of Ronnie and Roxy and bring Sharon back, PLEASE!!!
