Considering we've actually seen Opal a bit more in the past few months, I'm guessing Petey and Opal will actually share scenes (they better!). James Mitchell's health is what's keeping them from using Palmer (for the most part, I'm guessing).

It has been for a couple of years. I saw him last march, and getting around was just hard for him. For about 5 years now though, AMC has had the policy of using him has his health allows

It might be the first time since Bianca's time that AMC (and hers wasnt even that great) has a teen scene worth watching
