It's just typical Ellen and Dave doing the exact opposite of what makes sense.

ETA: All together I've stopped caring. The real Harley and GL died years ago, I don't know wtf they're airing at 3pm here on CBS but it sure ain't the Guiding Light I once knew and loved.

If this is true, then it's obvious about how bitter Ellen Wheeler is. She's practically killed or "killed" characters who have either quit or have been fired. Deborah Zoe (ex-Eden), Stephen Martines (ex-Tony), Grant Aleksander (ex-Phillip), Jerry verDorn (ex-Ross), Ricky Paul Goldin (ex-Gus), and now perhaps the character of Harley Davidson Cooper?

You would think (and lets keep our little fingers crossed and break out a little sweat on our foreheads) that Ellen Wheeler has learned her lesson after this Ricky Paull Goldin incident by killing off this character. The ratings went down to an all-time low.

Don't you do this, Ellen! I swear to God DON"T YOU DO THIS! Grave mistake. Don't ... do it! Your viewers are hanging on by a thread and this thread is not a rope! It's a teeny tiny little thread that could snap at any given moment. It's a very fragile thread and your viewers are in a very fragile state of mind right now.

Don't do it. It will officially be ...

I'm not sure what to think about this rumor. OTOH, it would give the character some closure, because, let's face it: Beth Ehlers won't be coming back ever. But again: Killing a veteran character off-screen when she left town in the first place for utterly ridiculous reasons wouldn't be the best option either. It's a lose-lose situation, but Ellen and Dave can blame themselves. They didn't expect BE to leave, so they got caught with their pants down.

I have no problem with this. Those morons can keep ruining this show all they want. I don't even care.

Plus, if Beth Ehlers isn't playing Harley, then why not give the character a big exit?

Harley dying off camera would be better than a really bad recast. If they also would kill off Zach that would be awful, as he is needed in the next generation.

What else can they do with Harley though? No exit was planned, she went on vacation for the end of her contract. If they even wrote a final scene, its gonna be nothing that provides an end to the character. Beth's never gonna come back, and recasting is just as bad, so might as well kill her.

It just seems so mean to kill her off though. Sending her to San Cristobel, even, just seems like a kinder thing to do for the audience that is left.

Exactly. It's not as if Harley's death would be the death of GL. It's already dead as far as I can see.
