Members AddictedToSoaps
Exactly. It soulds like they're going to address some of the issues that Guza never did back in 06.
Members quartermainefan
My only concern is Robert Scorpio traditionally is not a realistic character and it's going to be a sorry turn of events if they now take the superhuman superspy and turn him into just an old man who gets sick. I hated when GH did that to the original soap super hero, Luke Spencer, and it is going to be just as bad watching this happen to Scorpio. George Lucas didn't see the need to go this route with Indiana Jones! And he was older than Scorpio.
Members JackPeyton
&That was the ebst thing to ever happen to Luke Spencer, IMHO. GH in the 80's was high action and camp. GH in the 90's turnmed into real life char driven drama. Luke had to grow and change. Robert does too now. I dont wanna see him and anna swinging on ropes and going on crazy adventures like they are 25 now. I want top see them dealing with Robinm, her about to become a mother. Things like that. As for TR trashing GH and then going back - as others said he trashed the current stgate of gh, guza, jfp, etc. He said he met with the HW and producers here and liked the story. Members quartermainefan
Considering the resounding "success" GH has had with its realistic drama as evidenced by it's grand total of 16 viewers nationally, I think they would be better off growing in another direction finally. Look at the top movies and TV shows: superheroes, spies, mystery, sci-fi...everything from Spider-Man to LOST to James Bond to 24 and all geek genres along the way is in, so why should GH cling to out of fashion genre like mobsters and somewhat stale romantic dramas? Robert could be the vehicle to send GH in a new direction, and that seems like a better use of the character than dragging him down to the mundane level of the other, more realistic characters which includes his daughter. Again, Harrison Ford and Indiana Jones was 64 I think. He had the family drama and got to swing on ropes too. If you have lemons, make lemonade and don't try to make orange juice. Members JackPeyton
^GH did well in the 90's with its real life char driven storylines. then they got way to violent. used way to much mob. the stories became plot points, the char's were written 10,000 diff ways to further the story. one of the bioggest complaints gh fans is when anna coems on shes this bumblig idiot swining from things acting like a moron. people need to grow up. if they stayed the same forever it would be stale and boring. the over the top action adventure worked in the 80's. and soaps & movies are comp diff. Members Cheap21
He badmouthed and trashed GH before he came back in 2006. He talked about the sorry state the soap and the genre had become and talked about creating his own soap. He knew GH was mob infested and what Guza was doing YET still chose to return. He was one of the leading guys back in the 80s and felt he would return nearly 15 years later and still be treated like one of the kings there like Tony Geary. Boy was he wrong and got all pissy when that wasnt the case. Im just over TR. I felt he came across very arrogant and full of himself last time he was on GH. Members JackPeyton
I can understand that, i just felt he said what 90% of soap fans felt and have been saying. I thought he came across as someone who cared about the genre and wanted to repair it. so for that i like him. but im honestly not even a huge fan. of his or roberts

Members Y&RWorldTurner
I wonder if Sri Rao will direct any episodes of NS2, I notice he directed every episode of 'What Goes On.' Then again, he did create that show and EP it.
Members evermore
I didn't see TR as arrogant at all. Considering that the used to be the top dog at GH, I thought he did a great job with the material he was given, considering that Guza turned heroic Robert into a greedy, money-grubbing mercenary who was mostly there for comic relief. Whatever Tristan said about the show, he's right Suppose 20 years from now a future HW brings back Maurice Benard and turns Sonny into a caricature and a joke (the way Guza did with Scorpio)... you think Mo would like that? Do you think he would not complain? Do you think the long-term fans who tune in to see him again will be satisfied to see Sonny turned into a joke?
