June 15, 200817 yr Member Heres an excerpt: I know its a sad moment to see the end of the Tad and Dixie story… but never say never! Who knows what TPTB have in mind, or what will happen with me workwise. Its in God’s hands, as my mother would say. Meanwhile, I am cooking up tunes! http://www.cadymcclain.com/blog/
June 16, 200817 yr Member I think she will. Maybe not right away but I have a gut feeling. If they do, she better be alive and they better not [!@#$%^&*] it up for the third time.
June 16, 200817 yr Member ^^^^^ Really? That was pretty creative and I thought a fan made that. It doesnt seem like something a network would do. Good stuff LOL...Jackie falling over the balcony looked so fake. It looks like the used a fake mannequin I dont know how AMC would explain away her recent story. Sure we've had ghosts turn up before but they havent been this involved and integral in a plot as Dixie was. They cant just make her a figment of Adam and Tad's imagination. They'd probably just ignore it and pretend as if she never came back
June 16, 200817 yr Member Whoever said, "kill off Dixie" was really saying "I hate the soap audience."

They cant just make her a figment of Adam and Tad's imagination. They'd probably just ignore it and pretend as if she never came back That is what they did (ignored it) with Jesse who was around as a ghost for much longer than Dixie was and who saved Tad's life by reversing time when Leslie Coulsen hanged him. He also escorted Gillian to heaven (and she didn't even know him) and I think he was seen up in Heaven a couple of times too, in addition to the months he spent with Tad. I've given up on AMC again because I'm so disgusted with how TIIC are trying to train the fans to accept their mistakes by having Dixie say she's happy, at peace, Tad needs to move on blah blah blah and Tad saying goodbye. They should have fixed this the right way by having Robert Gardner fake both Jesse and Dixie's death (he was Tad's uncle after all).
June 16, 200817 yr Member Yeah, AMC is off my TiVo and my viewing list until they right this wrong. The whole T&D stuff just made me want MORE. It was like giving a kid a candy and just as they're about to take a bite, ripping it out of their hands and saying they can never have it again, and the candy is better off. Be happy for it. WTF? That last episode just ticked me off. Dixie is happy and at peace now in heaven and she wants Tad to move on. Why not just have JHC come on and do an interpretive "Kiss my butt, you T&D fans" dance instead? It was the same thing. "Run along now..." The "Goodbye Dixie" SUCKED. They need to call Cady and get her back on the show AS DIXIE and an ALIVE one.

So he could have been as *dead* as she. This would mean she is in a coma...maybe even having cardiac arrest or something. Then, for the rest, they can use Carolyn Hinsey's explanation: Zach took her body and is healing her (kinda like Prince Omar did twice for Taylor on B&. Her casket WAS a closed casket! Explained...pretty painlessly actually....

Explained...pretty painlessly actually.... I think that would ruin Zach. Sort of like when David was "hiding" maria all those years. I remember that revelation being universally disliked. Also we still saw ghost Dixie keeping Colby and Kate in the bathroom and daning with Kate. What they could do is have Dixie wake up from a coma that she went into in 2002 without any knowledge of having lost Kate. They could make it so that the "Dixie" that came back in 06 was an imposter who was brainwashed into believing she was Dixie. When she died she thought she WAS Dixie which would explain FauxGhost Dixie's concern for Tad and Kate." They can work out the whys later and knowing AMC, it probably wouldn't make much sense anyway.
June 16, 200817 yr Member Actually, Zach & Josh working together (or apart) works well. Josh is the one who saved Babe when Babe was also given the poison, but his trick didn't help Dixie. Josh, should rightfully have a bone to pick with Tad for killing his father (and Josh does know he did). So, Josh may have taken/hidden Dixie after he gave her the same drug he gave Babe... but Dixie had a bad reaction and has been in a coma since. Since Josh works for Zach, let's say Zach finds out (or knew)... and that he is the one who has decided not to tell Tad, not for any nefarious reasons (like that stuff with David & Maria) but because right now there is no hope, Dixie is likely to remain comatose forever. If/when Dixie starts coming out of it... then we could see Zach go to the Martins and go... btw..... So, who we just saw was still Dixie... just not a ghost. A mere astral projection/spirit outside of her body. She could have still done all the things she just did... but isn't dead. It also gives some reason why she was so emotional and was allowed to do these things. You don't see actual ghosts every day (look at Jesse, he's alive! LOL) interfereing with the living. But a very living spirit... works well. Edited June 16, 200817 yr by GaerielSky
June 16, 200817 yr Member AMC made a mistake killing off Dixie, but instead of trying to fix the problem through nonsensical, brain-dead "twists;" they should just move on with who/what they have, and trying to recapture the magic that was once All My Children. It only further hurts the integrity of the show when you stoop to such silliness. So many great characters have been killed off throughout the years, and sure it hurts as hell, but the show must go on (Ie. GL's Maureen, Y&R's Ryan). By having Cady continuously returning to the show, TPTB are only highlighting what a mistake it was to let her go. Plus, I loved Cady better as Rosanna Cabot (more bite!), but I don't want her anywhere near ATWT in its current state.

They should have fixed this the right way by having Robert Gardner fake both Jesse and Dixie's death (he was Tad's uncle after all). that was years ago though. The stuff with Dixie is too recent to just simply ignore IMO Tad met her in heaven, right? So he could have been as *dead* as she. Then, for the rest, they can use Carolyn Hinsey's explanation: Zach took her body and is healing her (kinda like Prince Omar did twice for Taylor on B&. Her casket WAS a closed casket! Explained...pretty painlessly actually.... And what about Adam? She's been interacting with him for weeks. The Zach explanation would ruin him and it would be horrible character assasination. I dont think the Zendall fans would go for that to see him sacrificed for her. Before this recent ghost story, I thought the best explanation would have been to use David to explain her being alive bc he's the only person alive that I could see stashing her away. He was obsessed with her and could have taken her bc he felt he was the only one who could protect and care for her. Plus he owes the Martins nothing and would have no problem keeping her away from them. He did something similar to Maria and her family so it wouldnt be too out of character for him. It would be great to get VI for this, but I dont even think he's really needed as they could have her escape from him and explain him not coming on to keep from being prosecuted The main problem Id have with Dixie's return though is that I love the family unit that Tad has going on with Krystal. They are great together and have a great family life with Jenny and soon we'll see them with Kathy. Plus I love their interactions with their extended family, Babe, Lil A, JR, Martins, etc... Loved TnD over the years but hated what a selfish horrible person she became towards the end of their relationship. I didnt think she deserved him by that point. I think he works better with Krystal now Edited June 16, 200817 yr by Cheap21

I'd accept the astral projection excuse in a heartbeat if it meant Dixie coming back to Tad permanently.
June 17, 200817 yr Member Sorry, if we're going to have to deal with a "only a vision and alive" I'll take Jesse ANY day of the week. Or Julia for that matter. But more Dixie right now not so much
June 17, 200817 yr Member I can't see Pratt getting excited at the idea of bringing Dixie back. Dixie is not his kind of character....except maybe the summer of 2006 verison of Dixie where she was trying to get Zach to herself and I don't think anyone wants that again.
