Members aMLCproduction
Gary Tomlin!!! he likes to write that campy stuff. He would mabye need a strong CO HW And Toups i bet you will say JER. Which I would not mind if only he gets a CO HW to help him flesh his ideas out.
Members brimike
I could see that as well. Gary's brief run on OLTL was VERY Days-ish. There are definitely people out there - but Ken won't hire any of them.
Administrator Toups Posted June 13, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted June 13, 2008 1. James E. Reilly - of course!!! 2. James E. Reilly and Hogan Sheffer That's never going to happen though. So my answer is.........I think a really good team would be Paula Cwikly and Tom Casiello. Both are fans of the show, they know the history, Paula has HW experience and Tom's a young gun, they know each other, they worked at DAYS before. So yeah.....Cwikly/Casiello is my 2008 ticket. Members Y&RWorldTurner
Megan McTavish. Come to think of it, her writing tends to be very dark and outrageous at times. Could she fit in at DAYS?
Members aMLCproduction
I think Gary was EP at SUBE and that show was over the top always. loved it. . Tomlin's co head writer could be Meg Bennet who wrote for SUBE.(SHe was pretty good) They would be a great together at Days I would Love if Brash and Cwickly return
Members Khan
CO-SIGN. A pretty awesome DAYS writing staff would be: Paula Cwikly, Head Writer. Tom Casiello, Co-Head Writer. Jeff Beldner, Writer. Peter Brash, Writer. Susan Dansby, Writer. Patrick Mulcahey, Writer. Courtney Simon, Writer.
Members dragonflies
Doesn't matter IMO, as long as Corday keeps sticking his big fat nose in stuff it won't make a difference. He really is the Brian Frons of NBC I LOVE that you say WHEN and not IF
Members Vee
Casiello would be a great choice too.
Administrator Toups Posted June 13, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted June 13, 2008 Now that's a tight writing staff. I'd trade Beldner for Fred Johnson - Beldner's an AMC guy. Trade Dansby for Sofia Landon Geier - Dansby's an ATWT girl. Mulcahey and Simon never wrote for DAYS but they are LEGENDS in the industry, so keep them. I'll bring back Jeanne Ford because she was with DAYS from 1992-1995 and then 1999-2007 - she knows the show. I'd love to have Michele Val Jean but there's no more budget and I'm only going with a 8 writers team, not too small, not too big. Head Writers Paula Cwikly Tom Casiello (Cwikly gets top billing because of seniority) Breakdown Writers (I'd bring this position back) Jeanne Ford Fred Johnson (Casiello/Cwikly will also write breakdowns and the four will rotate 2 a week) Script Writers Peter Brash Sofia Landon Geier Patrick Mulcahey Courtney Simon (Simon gets one script a week and the others will rotate 2 a week) Script Editor Courtney Simon I think that's a good mixture of new and old writers. Members Roman
Tom and Beth, if allowed to write the show, would be fine. But.......if James Reilly is allowed to come back...... The show is near buried. Why get him to throw dirt on the grave?
Members detroitpiston
I actually wouldn't mind Reilly coming back. At least he was never boring.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Truthfully, I also think Pratt is a much better fit at DAYS than he is for AMC... Just by going off his work at Santa Barbara, which was based on couples and adventure.
Members ian
wow bringing Reilly or Hogan back would seal this show's fate for sure!
Members Khan
Toups, can I trade you your Fred Johnson for my Karen Lewis and a GL veteran to be named later?
