I believe they had a different dub for Quebecois france--we still get Y&R and B&B int he afternoons and B&B is called Top Models I believe (like that--in English as it's common slang...) I always see it in the tv listings and briefly wonder what show that is... Loving was big in France and Italy I know can't remember the name (Italy had AMC for a long time as Pine Valley though--well except whatever Pine Valley is in Italian)

In quebec, LOVING was AIMER, I think.

An odd one was the French opening theme for Santa Barbara. They took that old Peabo Bryson (yes him again) song, "If never you're in my arms again ... blah blah, this time it never ends" whatever the words are, and gave it new lyrics about Santa Barbara

I still love Claudia's "death" montage theme, "The Host of Seraphim" by Dead Can Dance. Some of it is because of Toups saying he laughed throughout the montage, calling it "overproduced." True, but then again, what montage isn't overproduced? That's why it's a montage. LOL. Enjoy the full track, which has a lot less howling towards the middle of the track.

Thanks for the update Sindacco.

I am not getting too excited. I really hope some of the couple themes from the 90's are on this CD(i.e. Carrie/Austin, Bo/Hope, etc.). I could also go for some Possession cues too. But that would be asking too much.

I'm heavily considering a pre-order of this anyway.

Interesting, in the Agnes Nixon Paley Center video interviews on her site, someone asks about how recently (this was 1988) AMC had started using film music cues sometimes. Hima nd Agnes mention Erica's theme being from the movie Somwhere in Time and Cyndi's AIDS story used music from The Untouchables

In Germany where Days was apparantly massive in the 80s, and I think other areas in Europe, they actually at some cost had film composer Harold Faltermeyer rescore the show (Faltermeyer is famous for his disco work in the 70s--as arranger on many Donna Summer albums but in the 80s he did many film scores oin synths including Top Gun and Beverly Hills Cop where his ubuquitous Axel F theme came from--as well as producing a Pet Shop Boys album and other hits). I've always wanted to hear some of his work for the show--it seems so odd they got him to do it, though I know he used the gorgeous little known \Donna Summer ballad he produced in 87, Fascination, as a love theme on the show which gave it some chart success there.

Feltermeyer has been hired to score Kevin Smith comedy Cop Out.

I wonder if it's cuz they want a retro Beverly Hills Cop type score? I had assumed he had just retired and was living off the huge profits that crap liek Crazy Frod covering Axell F was paying him.

Someone has uploaded the full version of "Love Is Gone" from the Y&R original 1973 soundtrack. This is a great track was used until the early 90's:
