AMC : Actor OUT!

I think B&E didn't like it that Richie became popular so fast, and that a good majority of viewers wanted him to kill Ryan & Annie, that probably pissed off Frons too. BM is talented and is definitely leading man material

Jason, I haven't seen this anywhere but their site. They're definitely not a reliable source

THANK GOD. Although Billy Miller is a good actor, I could NEVER stand the smarmy Richie Novak. This evil s.o.b. definitley deserves to be killed off and hopefully Billy Miller will join another soap and play a better, nicer character. I could see him as Joey Buchanan on ONE LIFE.

Now I hope Leven Rambin(Lily/Ava) is out next, & maybe even Melissa Claire Egan(Annie, even though I've grown to like her, I don't see the need for her) & Amanda Baker(Babe, please, please re-cast with a better actress, someone of Alexa Havins's caliber, maybe Martha Madison or Erin Presley.). I'd also love for Cam Mathison to be fired or to leave.

It is really too bad they've lost such a great young talent in Billy Miller. They could have written Ritchie in a way where he was still bad ass but not pushed across the line of no return. It should have been from the get go the he said, she said thing with Annie and Ritchie and in the end Annie was the crazed loon all along, and now it appears both of them are.

It'd be sad to see Annie go--she's the only thing that makes me watch the last 5 minutes of AMC waiting for OLTL. Ritchie, on the other hand, can just go. In fact, he could take most of the AMC cast with him (Aidan, nuColby, nuBabe, JR, Ryan, etc.).

The writing for Ritchie was good?

I thought the writing for Ritchie became worse as time went on. Billy Miller was the only redeeming factor. Ritchie became one note and pretty much unredeemable during those horrendous November sweeps.

    • To bring over from the May Sweeps Thread from @Chris B   I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.   I agree. While it has been hit and miss no question, I have found it fascinating to watch what the costume designer is attempting to do with the various characters and their clothes. Some have been overdue. Some have been fascinating. But (outside of Billy) not boring to watch. I definitely find it more modern as well.   My growing issue has been it's not good that the best reason to watch Y&R as of late has been to see what people are wearing rather than the writing. It feels like a red flag.
    • Haha. The fact that I stopped regularly viewing at the same time and know what you are talking about is chef's kiss.    I'm slowly bingewatching Nurse's Ball Week. But it's slow for me because a lot of the same tics and writing flaws for me that made me throw up my hands is still evident *cough*CVE*cough* Thankfully, there are some things I like also and from a glance in the GH May Thread, it seem like it had a good Sweeps with good fallout. And do I even need to mention Nina finally slapping the taste out of Carly's mouth? See? Regardless of her flaws, I do enjoy Korte-headed episodes over CVE-headed episodes because they always seem to have more emotional resonance to long-time fans.
    • And that charity does still get mentioned from time to time. I want to say the last time was some time this year, too.
    • Oh, no. Vernon has definitely had his moments.   Choose silence anyone?
    • Search YT for Edwyn Sanchez, he posted an AI enhanced episode of ATWT and it is beautiful.
    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
