Denise Vasi is joining AMC as Randi, a love interest for Frankie ala Chuck/Donna story.

Funny quote (except not):

Well, the Frankie-Randi story was inspired by that vintage Agnes Nixon (the show's late creator) tale.

Meanwhile, a casting call has gone out for Peter (Petey) Cortlandt, as per Showfax.

Ummm...does anyone find the fact that Frons thinks Agnes is a dead a little disturbing?

oh and....

WTF DID THEY RECAST COLBY FOR IF THEY'RE GOING TO BRING ON PETEY! Ay dios mio!!

I should be clear it's not really Frons that did the write-up (I hope) but still...

ETA: They were initially casting this role late last year (although at that time it was "Rhondi"). The casting call went out at the same time as the casting call for Sen. Woods. So I think this girl will end up related to Woods.

But that also indicates this is a B&E story so they're probably not going anywhere.

I know, ridiculous!

Uhm, I'm a little ashamed to admit it - but girl would make me switch teams for 24 hours. Damn, she's gorgeous:

Apparently all the writers who work under Frons are incompetent hacks including those who write the blurbs for Soapnet.

With the show going with someone other than Colby for Frankie there was no need for Colby to be aged!

Exactly. How pointless....now she looks too old to be with Dre

This possibility is very, very disturbing to me - even more so than that article indicating that AN is dead. Not that I'm in love with JHC either, but I'll just believe she came up with the idea for this character and brought it back into the picture.

Headwriters work on storyline and character development until the day they're fired. Kind of like how the casting call for Michael Cambias was approved and Richard Culliton was fired a week or two later, or how Megan McTavish got Greenlee's big return approved but was fired during her first week of writing it.
