I actually like Nick again when he's around Katie. He's not worried about Brooke and he seems nicer. I don't know what they're doing with Stephanie. They're just kind of stringing her along. I hope the thing with Donna turns into something good.

Well even though I know who Marcus is now, before I found out when I first saw him the other day, I did think that he looked like Donna. I thought he was going to be an ex until he met her and she didn't recognize him.

Every time Jack Wagner smiles, I'm reminded his wrinkles are probably older than Heather Tom.

I couldn't even pay attention to all the sturm and drang over Storm this week. I know it's supposed to be everything good that soaps are about, but I don't think I care enough about Storm to get dragged through the emotional wringer like this. Or Katie, for that matter. *dodges tomatoes*

Did Patrick Mulcahey write the funeral? When the dialogue gets all showy and poetic, I always get taken out of the story. And it DEFINITELY got showy and poetic during Katie's speech.

    • Ashley just wants to schtup Andre. She needed to create a big meltdown in order to get rid of Derek and feel no guilt. Doug needed to lay Joey out on the floor. He needs to get some courage and beat Joey down to the ground. Kat turning down a date with Tomas to see if Eva was locked up is a sign she's going to lose him. Even without Eva in the picture she was going to have problems. The way she talked to him when he bumped into her and she didn't know it was him seemed to be a red flag too. Leslie has revealed a whole lot of the truth on her own. Without her making all those comments to Kat she wouldn't have ended up at the police station.
    • Do we think Shelley Curtis is the director KM said was brought out of retirement to help them set up the production side of BTG?
    • TBH the only soap I remotely liked Cady on was ATWT   I dunno WTH she's doing with Pamela on this show but it's cringe beyond words
    • Kelli Giddish (Di Henry, AMC) has been reinstated as a regular in her popular role on Law & Order: SVU after a few seasons off.
    • I really like Paul Telfer a lot.   But I loathe Xander!

) Anyways... I did really feel disgusted by Eurovision this year and I doubt I'll watch this horrific musical torture in the future. My ears and my psyche will not survive.
    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
