Natalia Livingston all over again in my book. All I care about is seeing David Canary and Bobbie Eakes score nominations tomorrow. Lish too but she submitted in the wrong category. Its too stacked and her performence was hardly supporting..... she was in over 80% of the shows last year for god sakes LOL. Susan should have went supporting and Lish should have went lead. Hell Susan's performence during CRASH was an emmy worthy supporting performence.

I know it's really not deserving of a best show nom this year, but I have a soft spot for AMC and hope it scores a nod. I wouldn't be shocked, since most of the usual suspects people are picking as best show nominees were not THAT MUCH better this past year, and the show did have its moments. No show was really superior this past year IMO. Also, I wouldn't be shocked to see Babs and Jimbo score a writing nom, despite their FiCore status during the strike. Didn't they get a writer's guild nod last year, or was that McTavish? I kinda hope Minshew doesn't get a nod. Besides being awkwardly placed in the supporting category, I've never found her to be that great of an actress.

If anyone deserves a best actress nomination it's Melody Thomas Scott. She was given some meaty material. Sure some of the writing went against character, but she took it and ran with it. She was really a standout on that show last year. I really hope Jeanne Cooper doesn't score a lead nom. She is the very definition of supporting actress and would not belong in the lead category.

The beginning of the Crash stuff was excellent. If they submit those episodes, they do have a chance of a best show and/or writing nods. Sure the show went south quickly after that, but the beginning showcased some really good writing. Really, most other shows were no much worse than AMC this past year. Nothing really stood out, so I think it could be anyone's game this year.

They'd be complete idiots if CRASH was not submitted all the way around, and I am not going to be shocked in anyway if it scores top 3 nominations. Does the show deserve those top 3 nominations, no probably not, but other than maybe OLTL and B&B I don't think any soaps do. OLTL and B&B are the musts for best drama if one of them or both are left off, there is a severe injustice.

    • A--I wish someone would post a better vid of the entire ball, as it must be out there. And B--nope. Evie is only in a small segment of the ball with Phillip, Rick and Mindy. She doesn't dance at all. Ross dances with Helena and Amanda. I'm not even sure why Evie is at the ball---Vanessa heartily disliked her. I did see that Billy actually asked Henry to introduce him to Vanessa, which I hadn't realized.
    • Honestly, they should've ordered more of 2000 Malibu Road for the 1992-93 midseason and aired it when Knots went on a break. That was probably their best shot.    Then of course they fumbled Central Park West by airing it in the 9PM slot instead of a 10PM slot where it would've been away from the Fox dramas. CPW got its best rating by airing randomly on a Sunday and when it was taken off the air for a "re-tooling", Party of Five's ratings actually had a spike, so clearly they were feeding off each other. But being a smaller network focused on a certain demographic, Fox could afford to be patient Party of Five, CBS couldn't...
    • Agree on Bruce Gray as Owen; they needed to cast star power. He was too lightweight against Kim and he had no chemistry with Frances Fischer except more gay buddy or daddy figure.  I loved Nola and Eliot together though. Lee Godart should have been longer term.
    • Andre has the worst fashion of the males which is off putting for someone as fine as he is. His jackets and sweaters look dated and no vintage does not work for him
    • I don’t recall MSW having a toy line in the late 80’s or early 90’s like all those Saturday morning cartoons did LOL but thought this was cute when I saw it in a vintage toy store yesterday:

    • Copying and pasting pasting this here as to not to derail the KL thread lol Wow I forgot CBS actually did try multiple attempts to come up with a soapy replacement for Knots on Thursday nights in the 10/9 slots for the 93-94 season.   Angel Falls had promise but CBS didn’t give it a fair chance. Latham’s Second Chances got even worse ratings than Angel Falls and wasn’t given a second chance when the Northridge quake destroyed the show’s sets. One West Waikiki looked gorgeous but was a blink you missed it affair. Finally we got Hotel Malibu, a quasi follow-up to Second Chances that stayed as the summer replacement series it was. CBS switched gears and had Chicago Hope air in the slot…against ER. It made the Top 30 but obviously underperformed below expectations. CBS gave up, and gave us 48 Hours for years there. It wasn’t until the 2002-03 season when CBS finally produced a Top 20 show for that spot with Without A Trace against an aging ER.
    • Of course I join in on wishing that Peacock & Corday & Sony would all together come to the conclusion that NOW would be a fine time to put some of these gems in the archive on full display!!! But, at the same time I'd like to give kudos to the fact that behind the scenes they've been doing the great work of preservation by taking tapes, etc. & converting them to modern digital formats. Besides the important fact of preserving them it means they are ready to go!
