Yep JHC spoke when McTavish was gone or on her way out....hoping this is a sign once again. I have my thoughts on who an ideal writing team would be. As for Jake, I hope they use Goldin and Jake and not backburner the character once they run out of things for him to do. Something tells me that TPTB will test the waters with chemistry between RB And RPG, and make them a bump in the Rylee redux road. Ultimately I would like to see them test the chemistry between MCE and RPG...Jake and Annie might have good chemistry and be interesting with one another. Since he and Ryan already have some animosity over Gillian, how would Ryass feel about Jake raising his daughter if Annie and Jake got together......could be interesting

Dixie and Jake...? I don't know, do they have a history?

It seems if they're going the Ryan/Greenlee route (although Aidan/Greens should be together, imo.) - what now, Jake/Greens? This is going to be interesting.

Dixie and Jake were always just good friends. Dixie actually was easily annoyed by Jake when he was "Joey." She thought he was immature, but loved him as a brother.

When Dixie came home the next time, there was very little relationship. Dixie was actually very close to Gillian when she was married to Jake. I think Gillian and Dix became close because of Dixie's work with the Andrassy Foundation at the Hospital, and their shared experience of being a Martin wife.

    • To bring over from the May Sweeps Thread from @Chris B   I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.   I agree. While it has been hit and miss no question, I have found it fascinating to watch what the costume designer is attempting to do with the various characters and their clothes. Some have been overdue. Some have been fascinating. But (outside of Billy) not boring to watch. I definitely find it more modern as well.   My growing issue has been it's not good that the best reason to watch Y&R as of late has been to see what people are wearing rather than the writing. It feels like a red flag.
    • Haha. The fact that I stopped regularly viewing at the same time and know what you are talking about is chef's kiss.    I'm slowly bingewatching Nurse's Ball Week. But it's slow for me because a lot of the same tics and writing flaws for me that made me throw up my hands is still evident *cough*CVE*cough* Thankfully, there are some things I like also and from a glance in the GH May Thread, it seem like it had a good Sweeps with good fallout. And do I even need to mention Nina finally slapping the taste out of Carly's mouth? See? Regardless of her flaws, I do enjoy Korte-headed episodes over CVE-headed episodes because they always seem to have more emotional resonance to long-time fans.
    • And that charity does still get mentioned from time to time. I want to say the last time was some time this year, too.
    • Oh, no. Vernon has definitely had his moments.   Choose silence anyone?
    • Search YT for Edwyn Sanchez, he posted an AI enhanced episode of ATWT and it is beautiful.
    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
