Well that was stupid that Pam Long didn't see her as a heroine AND a vamp character too b/c Reva was a heroine and smutty too, and that was Pam Long's greatest creation. Maybe this is why he possible did wanna do that b/c she'd assume people would think that she was trying to do Reva over again, which isn't bad. All great writers borrow from their previous works.

That storyline was the Dobsons.  People complain about their second tenure and I really don't get it.  They managed to keep me invested in the show for the first 8 months after Marcy left, which was no easy feat.  They also created a new heroine that I fell in love with- Angela!

Holy crow that song. I was watching the first couple months of SB on You Tube a while back and it was like every other scene that song played! I liked Kelly and Joe but good lord it doesn't need to be every time they see or think about each other.

Is it me or does Kimberly McArthur (who is near the last few minutes of this clip) look a lot like Brad's psycho wife on Y&R? I wonder if they might have been better off replacing Robin Wright with her...

Lynn Harbaugh played Lisa on Y&R... latest?cb=20121020201237&path-prefix=fr

I didn't initially think of them as resembling each other. Now looking closely, I see that there's something with the eyes. But Lynn had this Stevie Nicks / Gypsy vibe...

What would have been better is if they'd found Carrington Garland about 9 months sooner - and kept her about 16 months longer!

Oh good another temp recast. I always enjoy those. He has an...interesting interpretation. Who is the actor? He could have fit in on Sledge Hammer. He also has the "dirty hot" vibe...

This must have been strike material.

I swear any time I see a clip from 86-88 there is Tori with that awful quavering voice. So many wonderful characters had no chance on SB and she just dragged on and on and on.

Thanks. The uploader told me too. They should have had him come back instead of the other recast a few years later.

Watching the full clip, Tori/Kristen Meadows is a lot better in the last segments where she nearly tells Cruz the truth and then holds Samantha. I wish she had been like that more often.

    • Yep Edmund and Tad went under cover to infiltrate the... Willow Lake (I think?) old folks community scandal that was exploiting Phoebe, etc.  (Which at one point led to Edmund rescuing Brooke from quicksand--common around Pine Valley I guess

) EDIT maybe I'm wrong.  I found the quicksand scene

But for the story all I can find is Edmund going undercover as the gigolo "preying" on older women, Eduardo (no one would recognize him with that disguise and name ) so the drag must have been.. a different story?
    • But then he HATES the original Heather Webber (Cher's half sister played her, right?) and we know what happened when Robin would step into the role a year after this.  He does seem pretty spot on about actors who show promise otherwise.  It's interesting he knocks OLTL early on (though I loved all the recently released episodes from this era we got) but does give a lot of credit to the actress playing Cathy despite earlier complaining about her story.  And over all, while quite negative, his various pros and cons on the shows sounds about right with what I know of the shows at this time. This was a July dated issue of the magazine but and I know they date mags a month or two in advance--obviously when he wrote this he didn't know Lovers and Friends was gonna go off the air (in May I think).
    • You know one of the soap outlets posed that question just last week: Who do you want Trina with Spencer or Kai? And, of course, the picture of Spencer was NAC. I said, well, a lot. I chose Kai. I said that Spencer had been an entitled brat & that some people valued him over her, when I valued her above all others. I guess we'll see.
    • You're right. The only thing I can think of is if GH finally decides to bring back Spencer.
    • Sharon Rose Gabet told me on Facebook that she calls this "Baby Raven".
    • I imagine the storyline would now segue into Laura's accident. But I hope they manage to keep Leslie around though. I really don't want her to be written out, or get the DOOL treatment where she just pops up every so often to cause some short term trouble; the character and the actor were such a find.

    • You're welcome! I can't wait to read what your thoughts are... when and if you get into it, of course. "The Mansion Of The Damned" is amazing. It has everything - thriller, horror, crime, drama, soapy madness. Then as soon as it ends... you get Raven's return... which re-starts the whole show for me. So... I'm really happy for you! You're in for a treat.
