March 28, 200818 yr Member I got this from SoapTownUSA: Hey Nixon is using some of her clout to bring in a VERY popular and much loved head writer, who penned one of the top rated daytime dramas currently on the air not too long ago. Could Nixon be helping to convince ABC that Kay Alden was the right head writer to go for all along?
March 28, 200818 yr Member Jason you actually believe something that comes from that site? LOL, they're as bad as Raven Beauty, they basically pull stuff out of their arse
March 28, 200818 yr Author Member LOL well they are right on the spoilers so they have some legitimacy and I really like the AMC columnist there so I want to believe her
March 28, 200818 yr Member I actually could see Nixon getting Kay Alden to return. Nixon and Bill Bell have worked together in the past and I although different, their styles as pretty similar compared to other soaps. Maybe she took a look at Alden's story bible and was blown away? Even if Alden turned AMC into Y&R that would be a success. A classy, multi-generational soap with teen characters just as strong as the adults. Mystery, romance, family drama, heartache, comedy. Really Y&R and AMC aren't too much different. I hope this happens for Alden AND AMC.

You must mean the old days of Y&R when you talk about the teen characters. That show hasn't had a decent set of teenagers since the 1990s.
March 28, 200818 yr Author Member QUOTE (Chris B @ Mar 27 2008, 09:11 PM) Really Y&R and AMC aren't too much different. I think, of all the ABC soaps, AMC is the most Y&R-like
March 28, 200818 yr Member I remember one spoiler they posted on the front page of their site over the summer that was completely false, and when they got called out about it, they got all pissy about it. After that I take nothing that comes from there seriously Edited March 28, 200818 yr by Zendall Fan

My bet is that they read the spoilers from SOD, SOW, or SID and rephrase a lot of things to make it look like they have their own spoilers for soaps.

Could Nixon be helping to convince ABC that Kay Alden was the right head writer to go for all along? Here's the problem. During the writer's strike, Alden presumably "led" B&B. Have you watched it lately? Not at a "high point". Crazy Pam (over the top!) is doing all kinds of stupid pranks on Donna Logan, and mugging for the camera while she does it. Rick Forrester is now "in love" with Taylor Hayes...the ex-wife of his half brother Ridge, the mother of his last girlfriend... Bridget Forrester is now taking her mother's sloppy seconds with Nick Marone...while sleazy Nick turns his eyes on Bridget's aunt, Katie. All other major characters on the show are backburnered. I've been with B&B since 1987, and I've often lamented at its variability. But right now, I am as emotionally disconnected and disappointed with the show as I have ever been. That all this happened while Kay Alden (whom I miss from Y&R) had the "sole reins"...is NOT a good omen for AMC. Anyway, I don't believe this rumor :-).

March 28, 200818 yr Administrator The only writer that fits the description is Kay Alden and maybe Jack Smith.
