Well that didn't take long. Ricky Paull Goldin, who it was only recently announced is exiting Guiding Light when his deal runs out later this month, has been cast on All My Children in the contract role of Dr. Jake Martin.

Jake, of course, is the younger brother of Tad, and in his last two incarnations was played by Michael Lowry and J. Eddie Peck's impeccable hair. Jake's love interests have included Liza, Gillian and (of course) Greenlee.

Goldin, who cut his daytime teeth on Another World back in the day, is expected to make his AMC debut by the end of April.

OMG! Who was the person on SON who called this? I know there was a poster who said he'd probably join AMC as a Jake Martin recast. Tishy also mentioned it on the air on Friday. This is awesome.

Now if only B&E could be fired so we can get some good writers.

I wonder what they'll do with him...there isn't exactly a huge range of females in the same age group as him to interact with (Kendall, Greens, Annie seem too young; Krystal is too old). Is it too much to ask that Robin Christopher pops up as Skye for him?

I think he'll be chem tested with Greenlee and maybe Krystal. Imagine Tad & Jake fighting over Krystal. I could see it.

Then again, Julia needs a love interest too.

Krystal is a more recent mother than Skye and Bobbie Eakes is only four years older than Robin Christopher. I consider them to be in the same age group.

It was me. I told you on AIM during the radio show last week. I read it at SZ. Tracee aka Liveone mentioned it there. I think she got it from on the mags.

ETA: I just checked SOD and the rumor wasn't in there. I think it was in SOW and that is where she got it from.
