I disagree. I actually think Tamara made Carly into an actual woman. Instead of the self-destructive wreck that she was with SB and the absolute maniac she was with JB and the classless beastic portrayal that LW does. Tamara was able to make Carly seem polished, smart and relateable. She had chemistry with everyone and she seemed to actually "get" the character of Carly and make her understandable and a real memeber of society. Carly started her own club business with Jax, was a good mother to Micheal and able to establish relationships with Zander, Alcazar and was able to develop rivaries as well. IMO I think Tamara did an awesome job at making Carly a mature and real woman. She may have not had many storylines outside of Sonny. But I still believe that her portrayal was one of the best Carly's out of the four we've seen. None one else has been able to "get" Carly since then. Tamara got the mother aspect, the woman aspect and the mob princess aspect of Carly.

SB may have the "rough around the edges" "scorch the earth while I continue to burn myself and all those around me because I am angry" Carly nailed down. But Tamara was able to turn Carly into a mature adult that actually seemed to have relationships and seemed to actually contribute to society with her events, friendships and relationships.

JB entire tenure was awful and LW has completely demolished any type of sympathy and heart that Carly ever had in her. LW plays a cartoon, it's as simple as that. There's no real depth, realism or wealth in her portrayal. It's shallow and surfaced based on qurisk, tisks and hollering.

You know, regardless if you like Sarah or not, Carly WOULD NOT HAVE LASTED this long had some lesser or average actress played her first. It was Sarah who established that character and brought her layers, had someone else played her from her inception, the character might have been a flash in the pan and out after a year or two.

I thought Sarah was excellent for creating a raw, angry, wounded woman. She was an excellent actress and I thought she was awesome in her role. She was able to create Carly and originate her in a way that hasn't been forgotten to this day. She did establish this character and some may even always see her as the definitive Carly (to me she isn't. I will always see Tamara as my Carly.) I think that Carly first storyline with Bobbie was excellently protrayed and that Sarah played her with a duality and inner conflict that couldn't be matched at the time. Her desire to cause as much pain to the other person as possiable yet still be so wounded and self destructive that she would end up scoarching the earth and herself in the process of dishing out that pain was exquiste to watch.

To me Sarah will always be the trainwreck wounded woman who was amazingly vulnerable and self destructive. While Tamara was the more mature and grown up sophisticated woman who lived for her kids, love and her marriage/relationship with Sonny.

RE: Claudia Z....

I have an issue with having two Carly' on my screen

One in a constant rant is more than enough. I don't expect Claudia to be in the guise of Carly, as SJB is an excellent actress, I expect she bring me something new to this table, not a decade old character that I never liked...she wasn't all that and a bag of chips for everyone...I found too much Carly air hogging was not a good thing she took ownership of scenes imo so was not very generous so I found it hard to watch characters play off her...I like the actress so I'm not bashing her by any means...

but I'd like to see the "character" she is portraying play out before I rush to judgement...

but as a Jason fan which is mainly why I detested this "character" her being paired with him will only remind me what a Carly lapdog he was when he' spent recent years since SJB' Carly climbing off her lap and he' supposedly will finally hand back her purse...so its not all good for me as a Jason fan to be reminded of this. My critique of the Carly's since I don't like the character is simple

SBJ vers.1.0 A good actress TB 2.0 I like that she took "ownership of manipulating in a destructive way for me she made me able to look Carly on the screen..JB' 3.0 not on long enough to assess LW 4.0 too old to be obsessed about Jason it doesn't make sense for a woman who is married to another man go through these kinds of paces...

I have never thought of her as Jason' BF but the most destructive force in his life after his accident. She leeched onto him and wouldn't let go and I've put up with her as a Jason fan. I think in her warped mind she really thinks she is more to him than she should be and moreover than he "allowed her to be"

...she has never respected him as a man, or his decisions and treats him like an idiot not a stone cold mob enforcer this theme runs through all 4 variation of the same theme. Until Jason can firmly put Carly in check and secure her in a proper place in his life even though I will never abandon him as a fan I can't take him seriously because its his fault she' this ranting lunatic.

I personally think Sarah was the best Carly, Tamara's Carly made me want to slap her too much and I could not stand her. Her screetching was just UGH. I started to really hate Carly when Tamara took over and then it just continued.

I am actually looking forward to her scene with Maurice because they were majic and the reason I fell for Sonny/Carly in the beginning. It will be interesting to seei if they still have the majic. I also cant wait to see her first scene with Brandon Barash (Johnny) because I have fallin in love with Johnny Z.

    • In my usual account on my most used video hosting site with the video title  DAYS 1-8-15 Will & Paul Sex This is an edit I began when I was first teaching myself to edit & at that time I couldn't make it do what I wanted it to do. I pulled it up & finished it this morning.
    • Or Megan is shot as retaliation for Dave's unpaid gambling debts...while Julie confesses she's the biological mother of Special Guest Star Barry Bostwick's little boy.
    • Finland seemed such an odd choice for a location shoot. ATWT went to Greece and later Spain while GL had Tenerife and there were others in that timeframe. But Finland not being a known tourist destination or offering the tropical/sunny atmosphere usually associated with location shoots seems off brand. Maybe they were negotiating a deal with a tourist association and it fell through.
    • I was talking about 1986, but the glimpses of 1982 are about the same.
    • I skimmed some of the 1982 synopses; Steve was planning on an opening an office in Finland, and I think Jim went there as part of the preparation. That probably was a big issue; AW had already gone to San Diego that year, with Rachel/Steve/Mitch. And to upstate NY with Pete and Diana. I wonder if upstate was as expensive lol  AW in 1982 has always fascinated me, because of how messy it was
    • That makes sense. What a messy time for the show. And any changes they made were mostly for the worse.
    • The transition from Neal to Adam was very abrupt, and to be honest my theory is that the character of Neal was designed so that we think he is super shady but then it turns out that he was on the side of good all along so Neal could have seamlessly become a hero of the BCPD with no need for Adam. I don't know whether Robert Lupone was hired on a short contract or if he was fired from a longer-term contract because they decided they wanted someone who was more of a leading man type, but I can imagine a scenario where Charles Grant did both the undercover Egyptian treasure/flirt with Victoria and the straighter-arrow day to day police investigation. But in my imagined scenario the MJ prostitution plotline probably doesn't exist and instead he probably continues a relationship with Victoria. The story seems very odd to me. I assume that David Canary would have been included only because a plotline where Steve is going to Finland in which only Rachel is seen in actual Finland seems unlikely. The synopses explicitly mention that Alice can't go with Steve but would whoever was playing Alice at that time have had the kind of clout to get the remote cancelled? It also strikes me as unlikely that production would have approved the expensive location shoot and *then* cancelled it only because of jealousy. It seems more likely that they rejected it because of the expense but then the jealousy part got added to the gossip speculatively, possibly because while it was being worked out they justified not including more castmembers because of the expense.
    • My comment has nothing to do with cast resentment, but does relate to the Finland location shoot: It may be a coincidence, but Jim Matthews died in Finland in 1982.  Hugh Marlowe's final episode was in April 1982, but the character probably didn't die untll May or June. (I'm unable to find the character's date of death, only the date of Marlowe's final episode). SInce Jim and Rachel had very little interaction after around 1975, it is unlikely Jim's death in Finland had any connection to Rachel's potential visit, but the choice to have Jim die in that location at that time is a head-scratcher.  I'm sure the writers sent Jim on an extended trip (and off-screen) because of Marlowe's illness.  But Finland seems like a strange choice considering the (then) recently cancelled location shoot.
    • I totally understand your sloths concern about it and I agree with you. Let’s hope the show plays it’s cards right.    Further comments about the last few episodes: - I liked that one of the attendees was filming the scene. That’s realistic. I wonder if the writers will follow up with that.  - Martin and Smitty trying to drag Leslie out was very heteronormative, so perfectly in line with them two as characters lol.    As for the future: it’s obvious the Duprees will come to accept Eva one way or another, but the rivalry with Kay should be here for the long term   On the topic of acting: the only bad actors I’m seeing are Ted and Derek. Tomas hasn’t proven to be either good or bad, so far, but he’s certainly mediocre and uncharismatic. He sucks the energy out of the scenes and I don’t see any couple of women ever vying for him.
    • I’m trying to think which actors VW were working with at the time, and none of them had been there for a while. Even like Mac and Ada didn’t have that big of a part in Rachel’s storyline.  And Jamie was involved with all that movie stuff.
