I hope these rumors are false. As much as I want JP out. Whitesell is worse or just as bad as JP.

IIRC, the rumors have been flying since August that Passanante was going to be out soon. I really think it's just wishful thinking from anti-Passanante people. With ratings steady and up, she's not going anywhere.

I got back from vacation and this board was down....having difficulties so I had a couple of minutes to read and then it would not load. So I came here tonight and that was the first thing that caught my eye was that JP was gone.

I am glad some one agrees with me Whitesell SUCKED REAL GOOD at SuBe

Say hello to an even worse ATWT, which I did not think possible.

Chris Whitesell is absolutely atrocious. He was a HW for Gary Tomlin's OLTL in 2001-2002 which descended to new levels of camp and ridiculousness. He came from SuBe, which should tell you his background.

They started way before that. When did we hit 2.0? May?

LOL...actually, they probably started six weeks after she took over from Hogan.

The man's not a complete hack, only partially so. He created mainstays on OLTL such as Natalie, Rex and Roxy. He also started off with strong writing with the Natalie/Jessica baby switch. Unfortunately, he went downhill fast and the show slided into complete camp by the time he was fired and replaced by Michael Malone. So expect at least a few good months of ATWT ^_^

He's kind of like the male Megan McTavish, but instead of going for dark melodrama he goes for light camp.

Haha you sure that was him? I always credited the things liek Natalie/Jessica baby switch to co headwriter Lorrained Broderick (who I love but of course, to prove how incesutous soap writing is--and frankly this isn't a new thing--was at ATWAT herself not thatlong ago).

I think Chris stuff on SUBE was largely fun but that show is SOo diff than OLTL or ATWT--I agree he was VERY campy

The fact is both Whitesell and Broderick were credited as HWs on OLTL at the time so I credit them both for that story.

I just don't understand why they need to recycle writers. Their hungry writers who are watching these soap. I think instead of Who Want To Be A Soap Star. They need Who Want To Be A Soap Writer. Or Intern or whatever ATWT compeition with looking for actors & actoress. They need Intern Writers competition.

Bravo!!!!!! I totally agree with that! My sentiments exactly!

More like why the same particularly poor writers keep getting jobs, while some very good ones still available are not in any of the HW jobs at this moment.

ATWT has had very few writers in the past 15 or so years post-Marland who can be said to have had any kind of positive impact on the show.
