Members Adam
I agree. Latham's control is all but gone. Does anyone know for sure, are Latham's plot outlines still being used? Like can they legally scrap those before the strike ends?
Administrator Toups Posted January 29, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted January 29, 2008 Just as I suspected, Josh was promoted to EP. - Josh Griffith last listed as Co-Executive Producer on January 28 - Josh Griffith first listed as Executive Producer on January 29 Also, in the credits they now have "Head Writer" (Josh) and "Co-Head Writer" (Maria). Members Y&RWorldTurner
Wow, so it really looks like Latham is indeed gone because why else would Griffith be listed as the sole EP when he was still credited at co-EP 3 months into the strike before? However, I assume he'll have to hire a new HW after the strike ends, that's if Latham doesn't return as HW. I mean since the WGA revoked all WGA nominations from all Fi-Core writers, SONY and CBS wouldn't want any of their shows receiving second class treatment from the guild. I also assume Maria will be gone after the strike, from the sounds of it she's only there to help her family's show for the duration of the strike. You can tell Griffith is running things less hands on than Latham was production-wise. How else do you explain classic Y&R musical and directing traits coming back? Also, the production values are much sharper again. Of course this could all be nothing and Latham will be back as both EP and HW after the strike... I'm still not sure how I feel about Griffith being there long-term. I mean he's done a good job of rebuilding the show, but can this last in the long-run? Administrator Toups Posted January 29, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted January 29, 2008 GH - Michael Conforti back listed as Writer on January 29 Interesting that Michael is listed on a different "page" than Garin Wolf. I thought maybe they would be listed together as co-Interim HW.
Members winterguy125
All I have to say is whoever is writing ATWT, needs to be hired stat after the strike.

Members Y&RWorldTurner
If this is a sign Latham is indeed gone, I'm curious to see what the Y&R writing team will look like after the strike. I think Griffith will still be EP, but he might hire someone else to be his Co-EP (someone who has more experience production-wise). Anyway, if he gets to continue as HW, I can't imagine him keeping all of Latham's friends employed who wrote for the show before the strike. As I said before, I don't think Josh and Maria will be around as HW's after the strike, since the WGA has seemingly turned their backs on the Fi-Core writers. Whoever Josh, Sony, and CBS hires for the HW position better be someone good and someone with experience...
Administrator Toups Posted January 29, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted January 29, 2008 What if it's Jim Reilly? Seriously though, just after 3 episodes and you already want the scabs? That's a bit premature. Let's see if they're consistently good for a few months first, IMO.
Members juppiter
LOL ITA with you Toups. Friday's episode had horrible dialogue. Monday's and Tuesday's were virtually identical to a Passanante episode. People are seeing change that is just not there.
Members NYC123
Toups whos writing for AMC right now? The dialogue is so much better.
Members Kubla Khan
Friday's AMC was written by Agnes Nixon, Monday's show by Claire Labine and Tuesday's by the ghost of Douglas Marland! They're scabs. They aren't going to be outed.
