August 17, 200817 yr Member Kathy Foster belongs at Y&R, it was pathetic that she was ousted by LML...a terrific director and a very capable producer. She never got the respect she deserved at DAYS. Maxam becoming a producer over Foster at DAYS boggled my mind. And Y&R desperately needs Mike Denney.
August 17, 200817 yr Member Maxam, Denney and Foster all should come back home. And as far as I know, Foster left on Y&R her own, she wasn't fired. But the reason is pretty much the same.
August 17, 200817 yr Member Jerry Birn is still listed as consultant. I don't think I have seen an Esser script.Because you were FF-ing through the whole thing. Now she'll write less scripts than she used to. Didn't someone tell us Gibson is already gone? I did see him in the credits recently, though. I don't recall seeing Esser (I can't say I watch that closely), but I'm 90% Bennett/Gottesfeld are gone.Esser has been hired, apparently, haven't you heard?

August 18, 200817 yr Author Administrator Bennett/Gottesfeld's final ep aired July 10. I don't know why Toups said they are still writing. I'll be pissed if I was lied to!
August 18, 200817 yr Author Administrator It should be interesting to see what happens at DAYS in the coming weeks/months. Will Noel Maxam stay on as a producer now that his friend and mentor is gone or will Gary Tomlin replace him? I bet most of those former Y&R directors will leave/get fired if Maxam is gone, unless they leave out of loyalty to Scott first or are fired as well. And if those directors leave DAYS, I don't see them back at Y&R unless David Shaughnessy comes back. I think they'll all sadly leave the industry for good, Kathryn Foster was doining nothing until Scott convinved her to come back to join him at DAYS. Sadly, I think all of Ed Scott's "people" (Maxam, Denney, Foster, Saitta) will exit. People just like to work with people they know. I'm sure many Sunset Beach/Passions behind-the-scenes personnel will arrive. Here are some possibilities: Directors - Peter Brinkerhoff, Jim Sayegh, Karen Wilkens, Grant A. Johnson, Phideaux Xavier (if Gary can steal him away from JFP) Producers - Lisa De Cazotte, Richard Schilling, Mary Kelly Weir, Jeanne Haney
August 18, 200817 yr Member DAYS dodged a huge bullet by Lisa De Cazotte being over at GH:NS. I bet NBC would've loved nothing more than to force Corday to replace Scott with her. I do see her there as a lower-level producer as well. *ducks, I know how much you like your Passions crew, Toups* One can only hope that the new Y&R EP, whoever the hell he/she is, steals those directors back, but I still think it's very unlikely. August 18, 200817 yr Member And B&B: Head Writer: Bradley Bell Co-Head Writer: Kay Alden Breakdown Writer: Elizabeth Snyder Scriptwriters: Janice Ferri Esser John F. Smith Patrick Mulcahey Tracey Ann Kelly Adam Dusevoir Shannon Burke Bradley Who are the consultants? Isn't Michael Minnis still associate head writer? Right now, Jerry Birn is the only story consultant. Janice Ferri Esser had been billed in that role starting in 2007, but SoapsForever posted a few pages back that Brad Bell never really used her in that role and let her go when a contract cycle ended, and Birn was billed as the only story consultant in mid-July. August 18, 200817 yr Member So... If anyone is wondering - and I know no one is - I listed those writers for B&B and Y&R just to see how those teams make no sense at all. Why has Y&R stopped the in-house clean?

Why has Y&R stopped the in-house clean? Who else do they have to get rid of? They've got Arena and Sheffer as HWs, they obviously don't want to get rid of Hamner or Slater. The only other LML hire is Kanelos. Milstein/Beall/Gibson/Racina/Seidman are all new folks. I assume the EP change will make another change?

Also, I know some are going to attack me right after they read this, but they need some people who worked there previously. Like 1 or 2. Not Esser, not Minardi. Besides... dmarex... Don't you think that team is still too big? Edited August 18, 200817 yr by Sylph

Like 1 or 2. Not Esser, not Minardi. Besides... dmarex... Don't you think that team is still too big? Kanelos can also join those three. If you don't want Esser or Minardi, I'd gladly like to see Trent Jones, Jim Houghton, Rex Best.... or any of similar back. Yes, the team is big. Since it's conception, Y&R mostly had very small teams. They have around 15 writers (with Ferri joining 16, if that's true?) Do you think other might get mad if we get all Y&R-talking again?
August 18, 200817 yr Member Kanelos can also join those three. Yes, I totally agree! If you don't want Esser or Minardi, I'd gladly like to see Trent Jones, Jim Houghton, Rex Best.... or any of similar back. Except... Instead of Trent, I'd bring Minnis. Do you think other might get mad if we get all Y&R-talking again? Yeah, they probably will. I'm annoyed by the talk, too. Soon Pratt will start bringing his people and we'll talk about Pratt! And then Guza might be fired! Edited August 18, 200817 yr by Sylph
