Members Y&RWorldTurner
GH should win this easily if they choose good episodes from the Hostage Crisis. But none of these soaps deserve to be nominated for a writing award!
Members ZaraB
Any ideas which episodes any of the soaps submitted? That goes a long way to explaining results.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Also, B&B was robbed!
Members DaytimeFan
B&B and OLTL were absolutely robbed! AMC?! Y&R?! Good lord...who paid for those nominations... GH could and should win out of these pathetic nominees.
Administrator Toups Posted December 13, 2007 Author Administrator Share Posted December 13, 2007 Didn't ATWT win last year for Luke coming out? If ATWT submitted some of the Nuke stuff, they might have a good chance of winning it again. AMC might have submitted the beginning of the Crash storyline. GH was probably the Metro court. Y&R....hmm....can't think of anything. LOL Also, how the hell did Kate Hall get on the list, but Jeanne Marie Ford and Peter Brash aren't? Hall's first episode was on August 16, Ford's first episode was on July 30, Brash's first episode on August 9.

Members brimike
The WGA awards are only judged by the actual script, not the episode that aired. So actors' performances don't count for anything. (Technically, the Writing Emmy should only be judged on the writing as well, but since the judges watch actual episodes for those panels, it's hard not to let the performers alter the perception.) So for the WGA awards, you can have nominees that had well-written stories/dialogue, even if the performers who said the dialogue on the show left a lot to be desired. Members R Sinclair
I just hope AMC didn't submit any script written by Courtney Bugler.
Members MichaelGL
Ah yes the usual suspects.....I predict this is going to be an awful year for soaps award wise. The same old, same old. Humph.
Members Laurie
AMC (Yeah I know I defended B&E when they were announced HW and I feel very stupid now) OLTL should have nominated...one soap I'm truly enjoying
