How Ryan Stole Christmas

The self righteous doodle stick is at it again! Yep he is barking around orders like he is some King with three t1ts and three a$$es and three millimeter peters and three heads with none of them being able to work. Good lord so now the moron just thinks that, because he is HIGH H0 of the Valley, that he can have Ritchie moved to the psych ward? Geez I thought it was up to the DOCTOR to make that decision, not some baffoon who barely passed the first grade (or am I being generous there?) Oh but wait...I see said the blind man as he pissed in the wind-it all comes back to me now. Ryan did pull Greenlee out of her psychotic stupidor when she was restrained to the bed in the hospital! Yes there we go so Ryan has that experience and knowledge to basically have someone imprisoned to be shown flabby b00bies from Nurse Ratched and about ready to shock the h#ll out of you to make your hair look higher than Cher's afro or Rush Limbaugh on coke! Yep I tell you it will be interesting to see Ritchie playing Randall McMurphy while Janet Green is the Lisa Lowe from Girl, Interrupted as they plot to escape and maybe kill Ryan? That would certainly make my day! After all, it is now Ryan who is making sure that Ritchie spends his first Christmas out of prison with a bunch of loonies, hence stealing it from him, who think there are four fingers on each hand and got a double toe to make 20 toes altogether! Seriously who appointed him to be the enforcing Medical H0 to just decide who gets to go pay Nurse Ratched and Dr. Phil a visit? Last I checked, he has no degree, no skill, few friends, and has had to purchase his brain off of eBay. Those are not the best qualifications for a deputy dog Doctor of Pine Valley but I guess this is his make believe world where he is in charge of other prognosis in the little snow globe of Pine Valley. Seriously someone needs to put Ryan in a mental hospital so that way they can shock his brain and show him going through pain and agony...oh wait there would be nothing to shock because he has no brain!

I think the proteus storyline was amc's worst, it was the storyline that would never end. I thought joe was terrible today, he told on erica because she wanted to have greenme committed to keep her family safe, yet when ryan tells joe the same thing he goes and helps get the clinically sane richie committed. Joe is a hypocrite. He knows he turned erica into jack because she dumped jeff.:rolleyes::lol:

Wasn't that inadvertent on Joe's part?

Joe was being Joe today, sanctimonious and Erica was being Eric today, selfish LOL. I actually thought that was the best part of the show because at least it paid attention to a shred of AMC's rich history with the show's two most senior characters.

ITA. But joe still pissed me off. Adam we started watching amc in the same year, when I started watching brooke and tad were at trial for custody over jamie; erica was running enchantment and in a love triangle with jack/dimitri; kendall was a real bitch; janet was nuts; and I think adam faked his kidnapping(this one might of been the next year???).

Yes that was all in 1994. Towards the end of 1994 Adam locked a pregnant Gloria up and forced her into early labor and they lost the child. The Gloria went crazy and poisoned him. Oh the good old days where you acutally cared what happened the next day. :(

I thought Proteus started out ok and had a couple of really great twists. At least many of the character were used...many of whom people actually liked. Every time the show starts and Nonlee and Zach are in that whole I know it is going to be a LONG day. By the time Amanda Beall's or Courtney Bulger's names pop up on the screen I'm exhausted and by the time "Applolgies" plays as AMC ritual dictates, I just want to cry. Yes people current AMC makes Proteus look like Shakespeare.

Worse than that, he had the nerve to pretend to be shocked when Erica brought Miranda to the hospital and annonced that she was alive.

One would think that while berating Erica for trying to have Greenlee commited, Joe wouldn't turn right around and do the same thing to Ritchie because Ryan wanted it. But then, one would have to think that Joe wasn't a flaming hypocrite to believe he would act beyond his situational ethics.

I agree - this Kendall/Aiden/Zach/Greenlee mess is a MESS. And it IS only going to get worse - and I don't want to sit through months of explanation and forgiveness for their sex actions either. Ugh.

I don't even care about this never-ending Ryan/Ritchie/Annie/Jonathan mess anymore either. Ryan and Jonathan are laughable as tough guys with power. I'm just tired of it all.

Janet was a sight for sore eyes though..."Hostest with the mostest!" haha

    • She, the star of the show that she is, was fantastic in the episode, and the scene does include her, but it's more on the embarrassing side of things, much more. It's certainly a fresh idea, I can say that.
    • I know French Fan had released monthly summaries for all the soaps from 1975/1976/1978 that helped to put focus on who wrote what.   It's somewhere in the message boards (not sure if in archives or not). From what I recall, Labine did start the Ben/Betsy/Arlene triangle, the Jamie/Diana story, the Felicia story, and Rick/Cal/Meg stories.    When Depriest came on, she kept the ball rolling with all of those tales by having Arlene's mom starting to work for Meg as there was blackmail from Arlene to Ben, Felicia's story became more psychological where she was being stalked.. but you couldn't tell if she was truly being stalked or if it was in her head, and I think Arlene also had an admirer that ended up dying in a struggle.  The months she was writing sounded interesting and full of tension. Once the Schneiders came on... it seemed as though what had been started by Labine and built on by Depriest was reversed by this team.  I wonder if Upton had to sort of rebuild because of what the Schneiders had done during their time working on the show.
    • I really didn't start watching the show until season 12 when I was a teen, so I only caught the last three years. I LOVED the show over all though...even that part of 13 that was a bit messy! So, it's been a treat streaming the previous seasons on Plex. I'm amazed at how well so much of the writing holds up over 30 years later. Far better than a lot that we get today! For the most part, stories move along at nice pace with good twists and turns! I just finished season 11, so I'm finally picking up where I started watching all those years before. When I started watching as a teen, Laura had already died, so while she was mentioned pretty often, I didn't have much background with the character. CM was an amazing actress and had chemistry with everyone. So, it's a bit of a headscratcher that they didn't seem to have any idea of what to do with her starting at around season 7. Her scenes at that point are mostly short, brief, and she has very little true story right until the episodes where she's dying in 9. I wonder what it was about the character that the writers couldn't figure out what to do with her. Also, Ben's exit storyline was a bit confusing for me. I never really got who this woman was who was stalking him and this "secret organization." The whole plot seems like it should be on a different show. Michelle Phillips and Nicolette Sheridan have really fun mom/daughter/frenemies chemistry. I remember having a huge crush on PP's Michael and being disappointed when he was written out at the end of season 12.
    • mayoclinic: Symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder and how severe they are can vary. People with the disorder can: Have an unreasonably high sense of self-importance and require constant, excessive admiration. Feel that they deserve privileges and special treatment. Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements. Make achievements and talents seem bigger than they are. Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate. Believe they are superior to others and can only spend time with or be understood by equally special people. Be critical of and look down on people they feel are not important. Expect special favors and expect other people to do what they want without questioning them. Take advantage of others to get what they want. Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others. Be envious of others and believe others envy them. Behave in an arrogant way, brag a lot and come across as conceited. Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office. At the same time, people with narcissistic personality disorder have trouble handling anything they view as criticism. They can: Become impatient or angry when they don't receive special recognition or treatment. Have major problems interacting with others and easily feel slighted. React with rage or contempt and try to belittle other people to make themselves appear superior. Have difficulty managing their emotions and behavior. Experience major problems dealing with stress and adapting to change. Withdraw from or avoid situations in which they might fail. Feel depressed and moody because they fall short of perfection. Have secret feelings of insecurity, shame, humiliation and fear of being exposed as a failure. --- Or maybe Leslie simply has Soap Villain Syndrome.
    • Ambryn Michelle and Trisha Mann-Grant are easily the most charismatic actresses to grace daytime in a longggggggg time. This show wouldn’t be as good without them, IMO.
    • whatever she has is far worse. Narcissism is just a symptom for deeper issues.

    • What is it? I already know Ambyr was electrifying.
    • The show isn't great right now, but I do hope it can stay on, unlikely as that may be. I guess at least it's better than this time last year. I will say it doesn't really feel like Shortland Street anymore.
    • You guys are going to die when you watch the first scene of today's episode.
