A few fans appear to be warming up to nuAlison on ATWT lately, but soap newcomer Marnie Schulenburg just doesn’t cut it as Emily’s slutty sister as far as I’m concerned. Maybe it’s all the crystal meth Alison’s smoked this past year — and of course, the lazy writing — but I don’t recognize this character and don’t care what happens to her … or anyone she’s around (thank goodness for my FF button). I really wished ATWT would have waited for the former Alison, the fierce Jessica Dunphy, whom I adored, to return. Alison’s essentially an entirely new character – a horrible reincarnation of her former self — so I ask: what was the point of bringing her back then? Can’t we entice Dunphy back to Oakdale? Heck, it’s not like her career’s on fire!

Damn that's harsh! I don't see how that's Marnie's fault, IMO she's doing what she can with piss poor writing.......

Wow that was really uncalled for. I liked Jessica Dunphy too and was lukewarm to Marnie at first, but she has really shown some acting chops this past year. TPTB set her up for failure by completely changing the character of Alison and she has been pretty good in spite of this.

On one hand I feel like this is a different Alison who wants to ditch her wild child past. On the other hand, what took Branco so long to write this? Schulenburg has been airing for months.

She looks old as hell, has no personality, and is completely unrecognizable as Alison.

Word! Nelson overlooks any faults in those he likes and trashes anyone he doesn't like. I think his opinion is worthless.

Everything he is complaining about is really the fault of the writing and not the acting. I really like Marnie in the role but the character has been written poorly.

I'm in my 20s. Actual age aside, and I don't know how old she is, she looks, sounds, feels, acts older to me.

There's no reason to set out to hurt someone over a soap!

Unless she starts running into foreign businessmen who ogle her from afar, I think "making it big" is a relative thing. Not only did she do the videos, but she and Amber had some kind of porn site. Not that they ever mention that anymore. Or ever, on ATWT. I don't think a couple of college guys constitutes being big in the industry. A couple of times, people have reacted because of the video Cherie emailed people through Dusty's address book.

I can't fault the actress. Yes, Jessica did a better job, but Marnie's only acting out what Piss-Poor wrote for her.

Marnie started off horribly, but no one could make that storyline work. As time has progressed I enjoy her a lot more. I just don't like the storyline with Cole and Sofie.
