....................I <3 Josh. It's ashame that dropped his pairing with Greenlee to pair her with that god-awful Aidan (am I the only one who feels to the need to turn on closed captioning when he speaks?)

Then they dropped Josh & Hannah (umm...why? They were SMOKIN!). We all know they seem to be going towards Julia/Tad, so that keeps Josh away from Julia. But why go back to Hannah after his uncle tapped that? Seems kinda nasty to me.

:(

Josh needs some lovin. And now that Jamie's gone, I can't have my fantasy of having Josh & Jamie have a "forbidden" relationship, lol.

Janet and Amanda scenes were the best. I loved Janet's comment about the 'J' names; I also love her new hair (so cute).

Myrtle seemed really frail to me (more than usual). I loved seeing her, however.

The Thanksgiving scenes at the Comeback were lame. I liked that Dr. Joe gave the little speech but we didn't hear ANYTHING out of Opal or Ruth; I guess we should be happy with the one line each they both got on Wednesday!!

The Lavery scenes were dreadful.

I'm starting to like Greenlee.

Janet and Myrtle couldn't even make today's show good, and they were really the high points. I swear I never want to hear that song "Apologies" ever again. I think the writers should be apologizing for bringing AMC to this craptastic place. The show is too dark and depressing. I just removed it from my TIVO. I can't take this anymore, there is nothing to look forward to on this soap. Maybe after they move past this bomb shelter storyline and bring back the love in the afternoon I'll be back, but for now this fan has had enough of the Greenlee Redemption/Richie trashing hour.

At this point, I pray an asteroid hits Pine Valley and kills all the Lavery's (minus Spike...he's a part of Team Slater :D ). Ryan, Jonathan, Annie & Emma (ok....well...Emma's cute. She's just got shitty luck for being a Lavery) all need to go.

I'll be so glad to see Myrtle. I love that woman. Her and Thorsten have such inappropriate chemistry. There's just something about them together that makes me want to film...and then take a shower. If it wasn't for Kendall....I'd root for a Zach & Myrtle pairing.

Zach & Myrtle....because you're never too old to have your Slate cleaned :D

Break a Leg, Ryan

Gobble gobble doobily dottle! So Ryan gets to the Thanksgiving dinner acting as if he has never seen food in his Dynamite Kiddo life and he decides to take a drumstick to which Kendall tells him that Zach is all about the legs and hence he needs to save a piece for Zach. To this, Ryan actually says that he alweays thought Ryan was a leg man. Uhh Ryan, last I checked the drumstick is the leg or did you just not think of this? Good lord just when you think the idiot can actually get to the dumbest part of his life, he just manages to say something even dumber. I mean he is the same person who is shocked that six is afraid of seven because of seven, eight, and nine (remember that with Julia?). Good lord I guess for punishment of not being able to realize that a drumstick is a leg that Ryan will just have to break his own leg and get it over with as soon as possible. Hmm maybe they can have Tonya Harding do a big ole whack to him and make him scream higher than Eddie Murphy's afro. I am really hoping that one of these years for Thanksgiving that Janet escapes from the looney bin and manages to poison Ryan's turkey so that way he dies a slow and painful death, yep even slower than Ryan trying to figure out if there is life on Pluto to which everyone knows that can never happen. Heck Ryan thinks one of these days he will manage to make it to Pluto! But that could be interesting for him to go to the outer planet since it will be a long and dangerous journey and one that has him screaming in agony the way he screams when a flying bat flys up his a$$ to drop some friends off in Ryan's yellow pool. But for now I would settle for Ryan just breaking his leg as the title suggests and maybe now he can realize that there is always punishment for doing and saying stupid things. Well if that were the case, then Ryan would be punished at all minutes of the day like having his voice box taken out so nobody has to listen to the pontificating about Roseanne being off key while singing the National Anthem or another punishment could be to saw off his feet but actually that would not work since he is always putting his foot in his mouth. Yep let's start with the leg and then work our way in punishing the idiot known as Ryan.....not knowing the alphabet and being like Vanna White is another reason to punish this baffoon...but do not try and teach him any of the letters because that can take years and would certainly be a waste of your time.

They've been using that damn song on primetime too. I swear they used it on Brothers & Sisters last night. Greenlee can take her redemption and shove it up her snatch. I'm sick of her, and them trying to destroy Ritchie to redeem her. And Aidan can just FOAD ( told ya I'd use it Angie ;) )

...................*shudders*. I don't find Jack to be sexy at all. Then again, maybe I'm not supposed to. I'm a dude. But still....Jack just seems like a big pain in the ass to deal with. Him and his endless need to bitch and be the focal point in the relationship...and his baby stealing bitch of a daughter. Julia would kick Greenlee's ass.

Josh & Amanda would be good, but IMO, I don't find either one to be a strong enough actor to hold my interest in the pairing for too long. They do have good chemistry, but I think it would dissipate due to their acting (though both have gotten a lot better).

    • She absolutely needs to be on this show.
    • they need to bring her back for a role! I say expand Bill's family and have her play his meddling aunt that moves into his house with he and Hayley and goes head to head with Anita
    • I'll be brief with this response because it is veering into Classic thread territory, but I agree about the Taggert writing especially when the show revealed he worked with/was mentored by Deke and knew Sonny killed him.  It gave Taggert a bias that was unnecessary and made it seem like he was a poor judge of character, so the audience was already primed to dislike him even if Taggert was right. Plus, Garcia and Taggert were pretty obnoxious, especially early on lol.
    • THE ROAD OF LIFE from 12-13-1984 to 7-1-1955. But this soap had been on radio & very popular from as far back as 1937. Then in 1954 P&G suggested to Irna Phillips that she develop this project for television & P&G would sponsor it. It may have been the beginnings of the sponsor-owned soaps.
    • SOD Where Are They Now? She left daytime more than 25 years ago, but GUIDING LIGHT fans have not forgotten Lynne Adams (ex-Leslie, GUIDING LIGHT, 1963-71; 1973-76; ex-Amy, SECRET STORM, 1971-72). She's one of Digest's most frequently requested "what ever happened to...." GL alums — a pleasant surprise to the actress. "I'm really flattered," she smiles, then admits that fans still occasionally recognize Leslie Jackson Bauer Norris Bauer. "It's amazing because I haven't done it for so many years." By Melissa Scardaville   The years that she did spend there were good ones. "My main memory is of all the women I knew on the show, like Charita [Bauer, ex-Bert], and Fran Myers [ex-Peggy] used to be a great friend of mine." Adams's main storyline — the tortured triangle of Mike/Leslie/Ed — was also a bright spot. "I really enjoyed doing it, until the character got married [to Mike] and she was happy." That, in turn, was the impetus for Adams to leave. "The character got boring, frankly," she shares. "It was very conservative and boring and happy. Not that happy is bad; happy is great, but it's not that great on a soap opera. You want to have some conflict and drama, and her biggest drama was that she was worried that her stepdaughter was going to get involved with some guy. It just wasn't interesting, so I left."   GL has ties to Adams's current project, Made-Up, a comedy about our culture of beauty that she wrote, starred in (with her sister, Brooke Adams, as well as brother-in-law Tony Shalhoub and Eva Amurri) and produced with Sister Films, a company she founded with Brooke. "The whole time I was on GUIDING LIGHT, I used to dye my hair because I went white when I was about 16," she shares. "After I had been off the soap for a while, I let my hair go, and it was shocking the difference in the way people treated me. You feel like you've disappeared and you're not a viable person somehow. Then, I would go to an audition wearing a wig, and suddenly it was a whole different story again."   That experience led her to write a one-woman show, Two-Faced, which she performed for nine years. Adams then embarked upon the arduous task of taking a version of the play to the screen — "One time, we had the $5 million in the bank and Kevin Kline couldn't do it and all the money fell apart." But, thanks to her husband, George Fifield, a media arts curator, she eventually got it shot on video as a mockumentary. "It's a movie that people who used to know me would love to see," she notes. To check if the film is coming to your area, log onto www.madeupthemovie.com. Adams also points out, "If you click 'Contact,' that [e-mail] comes to me, and I'll answer it."   Sure, her plate is full now, but would Adams ever return to soaps? "If you had asked me two years ago, I would have said yes. If you had asked me 10 years ago, I would have said no. Right now, I live in Boston, so that would make it kind of impossible," she chuckles. "But I loved doing soaps. It was a hard job, but it was really fun. I used to have some relationships with some of the people who watched the show who would write to me. I miss all that."
    • Thank you for this!  My guess is that they had actresses audition as backup in case Tunie said no. Debbi Morgan mentioned she was asked but turned them down and I imagine it was likely for Anita as well. I love that they sent her a letter acknowledging her advocacy.  I hope that down the line they consider her for another role. We need two Articulettes!
    • Very interesting - thanks, @P.J. and @DeeVee!  This makes me want to go back in time and start my watch at '89. I think I'm going to power through just a little more of '96 right now just to see A-M/Lucy marry (so I can see their happy ending), how Phillip enters the picture, more of Alex vs. Amanda (because that's so funny/amusing to me), and what happens to Blake's twin babies (the only things really keeping me going right now).
    • Today marks the 139th anniversary of Emily Dickinson’s death. She died on May 15, 1886 at the age of 55. WalMart has said their prices are going up. As ideas go, I am againsr this one.
