I loved yesterday and today's episodes too! Great fun, classic lines, a lot of laughter, a lot of drama and lots and lots of soapiness. For the life of me, I cannot understand why ratings are down. Perhaps those addicted to stunt-storytelling can't face the fact that the show has, you know, logic in it now.

Tuesdays show was just, how can I put this, PERFECT SOAPYNESS!

Suspense

Comedy

Half naked people running around

Shot guns being pointed

Spying/Eavesdropping

Moral Dilemmas

Angst

Heart Break

Can we get more?! Please. Hopefully, not that many people missed such a good show by travelling for the holidays.

I'm so thankful this year for a great soap opera!

One Life To Live has been so good for months now.

I'm so impressed with it.

Everyday I watch the whole show, not wanting to miss a minute of it.

Their isn't one character or storyline I'm not feeling...it's all good to me.

All My children is still boring me to tears and I hate half the cast of characters.

Shame that OLTL's lead-in is so crappy. Sad.

But come 2:00pm I'm all rushing back into the room...looking forward to seeing the show.

Each day...

And it's enjoyable to watch.

That seems rare these days.

I'm just worried that this strike could mess it all up.

*fingers crossed*

Btw...

Does anyone else think we are about to get 3 new Buchanan's?

I'm thinking Charlie is really Asa's son.

Jared is Charlie's son.

And Shane is Jared's son.....

Can't wait to see what happens next.

    • No. Ruth had an extramarital affair with David while married to Joe.
    • I'm not sure I agree with Bernstein's children on that. Bernstein's life and activism here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Bernstein#Social_activism_and_humanitarian_efforts
    • Thursday & Friday's episodes were excellent. The build-up was most definitely worth the wait (2 months). TMG, I can't give her enough accolades. AM, was also absolutely incredible. I think the fallout is going to have a ripple effect. The little clues that have been dropped,  hopefully, will weave seamlessly to reveal even bigger bombshells for the Dupree's and Martin.
    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archived copy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
    • I said this on Twitter on Friday when Leslie mentioned Chicago, so perhaps she might be related to one of Anita's bandmates. In addition, Leslie did say she grew up listening to The Articulettes too.
