Members Matt P.
When I lived in The Spanish Harlem of NYC in 2006, I was addicted to Telemundo's telenovelas. Even though I couldn't understand the words, I enjoyed La Tormenta, Tierre de Passiones, and my favorite was of course Amores de Mercado. I loved Paola Rey and Michel Brown. They were such a hot supercouple. Plus the villains Monica and the bad ass Fernando Leyra. The show I also enjoyed was Decessiones which I could see why it was on so late because it was almost like watching porn! One episode had a husband posing as a porn star for an obsessed female photographer. I miss Telemondo!
Members Sylph
OK, I tried to transcribe the dialogue from that scene with Hector and Rubí, one of my favourite scenes ever! Here it goes, possibly with some spelling mistakes and some parts missing: HECTOR: ... Has tu vida y deja me en paz! HECTOR: Tu no te vas de ninguna parte! RUBÍ: Suelta me, estúpido! HECTOR: Rubí! HECTOR: ... RUBÍ: Suelta me! HECTOR: Me das asco, Rubí! RUBÍ: Tu no me llevas a ningún lado! Members dm.
The fact that I can translate more than half of that text Sylph wrote means that even though I haven't watched a telenovela in years, I still got it. However, I would NEVER watch another telenovela again. There isn't a person or a storyline good enough to bring me back to that. But in my past, I had my share of telenovelas.... Lazos de Amor, The Guilt, Pobre Nina Rica, Marisol, Esmeralda, La Jaula De Oro, La Mentira, La Usurpadora, Preciosa, Vivo por Elena, Muneca Brava, Laberintos de Pasion, Por Tu Amor, Nunca te Olvidare, Mi Destino Eres Tu, Siempre te Amare, El Manantial, Entre el amor y el odio, Un Nuevo Amor, Amar Otra Vez, Piel de Otono... and that's where I stopped. And now I can't believe I ever had the need to watch those.

Members Sylph
Rubi's shocking confession ! Again, embedding doesn't work for me : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dG25SN06uyE&NR=
Members All My Shadows
^^^ Just copy the embedding code into your post and change "HTML Off" to "HTML On - Auto Line Breaking" and it should work. My Spanish isn't fluent or very incredible (all I got is what I learned in high school), so I need captions, but I can keep up for the most part with what's going on. Two or three days a week, I catch Univision's "Palabra de mujer" (with the kickass theme song) in the daytime and "Fuego en la Sangre" in primetime. "Fuego en la Sangre" in English means "Fire in the Blood," and that is just a spectacular title for any soap in any language.
Members Sylph
Yes, that worked perfectly for me until a few days ago when it never embeds the video, but makes a mess of a webpage. I don't know what happened. Maybe it's my browser or something...
Members Soapsuds
I'm usually a Univision watcher. But not watching "Fuego en la Sangre" instead I watch "Victoria" on Telemundo at 8 pm. I do watch "Al Diablo al los Goupos" which comes on right before FELS. I think it translates to "The Hunks can go to hell"...LOL...or the Hunks are the devil...LOL. I love the soap opera. One of my favorites.

Members All My Shadows
I watch Al Diablo every now and then, too. I watched it more before FELS came on though, because I didn't watch "Pasion," so I used Al Diablo to get my telenovela fix, but now that I'm watching FELS, I think I'd go through Spanish language overload if I watch them both lol. I liked Al Diablo, though...I might check it out tonight. The one character I could NEVER stand, though, was Milli.
Members CassieFan
OMG, Fuego en la Sangre is SO bad The characters are supposed to be in their late 30's, but they all act as teenagers. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I currently watch a Brazilian telenovela called "Duas Caras" (Two Faces). Here is the synopsis if anyone is interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duas_Caras
Members Soapsuds
I love the lead male character of Al Diablo...the guy is such a hunk...LOL. I never liked "Pasion". I thought it was an awful soap opera. I still think spanish soaps have better writing and production values than do the american soaps. Univision has even beaten the the big 4 networks in primetime. The night of the Daytime Emmys....Univision had more viewers than ABC did.
Members All My Shadows
Psh, FELS is brilliant. It blows "Masterpiece Theatre" out of the water, thankyouverrymuch. :P (yeah, it's garbage, but I loves it lol) The guy IS hot, that's why I hate Milli lol. As for "Pasion," I don't really go for the heavily romanticized, fairy tale-ish historical telenovelas. They just seem so...I don't know the word...ooobvious, you know? Stereotypes are magnified like a hundred percent in those things.
Members Soapsuds
On in Al Diablo...I love the gay butler....The scenes with him flirting with bf of his boss daughter is so hilarious. The butler reminds me of Henry from ATWT. It pisses me off that they didnt make Henry gay. I loved the scene where the butler fantasized about toweling the hot bf...LOL. Members Soapsuds
I watched the beginning of FELS. But I was already watching "Victoria". So I stopped watching. I might pick it back up once "Victoria" is over in late July. I still like Al Diablo more than any soap out right now. Yup...the guy is hot. He name slips my mind...real name and character name....Milli is one lucky beyotch...LOL. I also hate Pasion because it was an old fashion soap about the past...historical...I dont go for those kind of soaps either.
