Even then, fans should have seen equal fault for both Katie and Carly. It's not like Katie became the official troublemaker once Teri made that statement. Aside from the IMMINENT DEATH, Carly has been getting everything she earned after abandoning her own children. Katie was just as stupid for thinking she could have an instant family with Jack after what he went through. That's why slavish devotion to a couple eludes me. It robs your brain of all objectivity.

And if they had written Katie's TRUE character, faults and all, not just this sugary sweet (well, except to Brad), butter wouldn't melt in her mouth hypocritical bitch (who has never once apologized to Carly for anything she did to her FRIEND (regardless of what illegalities Carly committed)), I at least wouldn't be able to bitch about Katie being a Pod. But no, to prop Kack, Katie became perfect. And the entire town bows and scrapes to her between the daily readings of her Saintly Deeds.

Before I even finished reading your post, I immediately thought about those two AMC characters.

I recall a lot of folks saying that Katie and Carly were similar in so many ways; and that the similar traits was what sort of attracted Jack to Katie.

All in all, I stand by what I say. I dislike the character, but like the actress...

I don't find them that similar (because Katie is a disloyal bitch to anyone she calls friend), but the show refuses to do anything but say "Katie's matured" and "Carly is Carly" now and forever.

Katie has matured!! and carly is.. well still acting the 14 yearold she has for years.

Carly is a selfish whinny bitch who will do whatever it takes to get whatever she wants when she wants it how she wants and she someone makes it all okay in her head - katie does the same thing, but sometimes at least shows remorse.

I think Katie and Carly are similiar in the way they are both willing to do whatever it takes to get what they want. Aside from that and being blonde, I don't think they're similar at all. Their personalities are completely different.

God forbid an actor or actress show that they happen to like one pairing over another. It's not like Terri was at a fan event with Mark Collier, a fan asks her which Mike she liked working with the best, and she says something like "Shawn Christian because he was like the best Mike ever.".....while Mark is onstage (::cough::cough::Rebecca Herbst::cough::cough:). Actors have preferences too. They know many fans have their favorites and it's totally unfair to ignore one fanbase while promoting another (::cough::cough::Rebecca Herbst::cough::cough:.

I remember when all that BS went down between Terri and the Matie/Skatie fans. And IMO, Terri got a raw deal. They got mad b/c she did an interview with the Skatie board? Maybe the other times when the Matie fans asked her, she didn't have the time, and managed to have the time when the Skatie board asked her to. I'm not making excuses for her, I'm just saying.

There are people in fanbases that swear allegiance to one couple and one couple only, and if the actor EVER shows any interest in another, they turn on them. It happens, and I think those kind of fans give many a bad name.

PS...I don't think Terri ever worked with Shawn Christian, but I was just using that as an example (::cough::cough::Rebecca Herbst::cough::cough:)

ITA Ryan and they(Matie Fans) also said mean/vile things about Terri when she agreed to do a chat session for the Skatie Fans. I mean she was freaking reamed on the Matie board for that. I feel bad for her to. The Katie bashing is out of control.

I was posting in that message board that slammed Terri left and right; and they did it in such a nasty manner too; all because of her wanting to honor something to a different fanbase than the one they (Matie fans) wanted her to.

I read the comments and they were downright NASTY....In fact, I made mention of those comments to Ryan at the time that they happened....

While I don't like the character of Katie as I once did, I do like Terri Colombino....and to add irony of it all, I got an autograph photograph in the mail from her...so, in some light, she must read some of her mail/emails that come to her.

Oh. Well, I think he said something about knowing who Katie is and what she is capable of early on in this story, but I think that's about it. I can't imagine why he would say anything about the two of them being similar now. Katie isn't who she used to be.

What I find funny is that folks who bash Katie are haters, while those who bash the character of Carly are justified. I'm not saying it about anyone here, but based on other boards I've been on.

Both characters to me are way beyond flawed; it's not the actreses that make them that way; it's the writing.

It would be nice if Passante could actually write their women characters as strong, independent women, rather that women that:
